In yesterday’s post there are some pics from the Puma Runway show Doc Munz and I attended. What’s not pictured is the wealthy conversations that took place throughout the night between him and I. I wouldn’t dare entice or bore you on here with the verbatim, BUT….I did come across a quote today that is a fair summary of the discussions…

Romanelli insists that personal significance is a prerequisite for any partnership he joins. “The only way I will partake in a collaboration,” he says, “is if there is some level of connectivity, passion, or energy with the brand I’m working with.” Integrity, after all, is the primary thread in Romanelli’s endeavors. “I didn’t go into business because I thought I could make money from it,” he declares. “I got into it because I had a passion for it. In a world where information and technology are forcing us to constantly challenge ourselves to rethink how brands define their identities in an ever-changing marketplace, it’s good to know there’s a doctor in the house.”

Dr. Romanelli produces mind blowing creations. The above is his collaboration with Converse’s (PRODUCT) RED that will be featured at Extra Butter in the near future. But besides the fitting quote, I also learned of news that he has teamed up with the stylistic mega power – FRUITION (also a huge inspiration to me) on a project which pretty much leaves me speechless.

It’s best to be prepared when things start lining up as I assure you the sequence of events above is NOT a coincidence.

Next year Puma plans to make a lot of noise in many ways… one way is with the “Runway” campaign. The main idea here (something I considered foundational to me as I got into b-boying) is that the better you look, the better you feel, the better you perform. Fashion influences sport, sport influences fashion.
