JK5 X Mishka Release Party
Saturday Night…the Butter posse rolled to Mishk’a pop-up shop in Williamsburg for the JK5 X MISHKA release party.

Here’s some info on the super talented, creative, and hospitable JK5…from www.JK5nyc.com
“Joseph Ari Aloi, a.k.a. JK5, lives and works in Brooklyn, New York, where he relentlessly developments his visual, textual, and iconographic languages through a diverse range of media. JK5 is a highly respected custom tattoo artist and has been so for the last 12 years. In 1999 Aloi published a 432 page, hard bound “chronologically becoming” book of his work entitled “Subconsciothesaurusnex” and was a heat seeker for all of the exposure, relationships, and projects to come. Aloi’s work has been featured in publications such as XLR8R, Anthem, BPM, Dazed, Dutch, Relax, and Lowdown. Aloi has exhibited his work at ALIFE, Deitch Projects, Brooklyn Fire Proof, Riviera, Toy Tokyo Show Room, A Hello Kitty Museum Anniversary show in Tokyo, and a solo show at Kidrobot. Aloi has also collaborated with Make Believe, Surface to Air, Nom de Guerre, X-Girl, Nike, Tylenol, and Camel. He is currently tattooing 5 days a week at the mighty SAVED in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, where he shares a personal studio with dear friend and fellow creative tattooer, Dan Trocchio. Kindly call the shop, if you are interested in getting tattooed. 718 486 0850.”

BUCK-DIME
Let me tell you about another element of our beloved hip-hop and/or sneaker culture…the element being “the Saturday”. “5 days of work, 1 whole day to play, come on everybody put your rollerskates away, it’s Saturday!”…you do know that De La song right? Believe it or not De La Soul is responsible for way more than just 2 Nike SB’s…
Anyway, from J.O.’s to Air Max’s, Dunks, and Forces – big time sneaker releases lead to what was sometimes referred to as “Sellout Saturdays” – a phenomenon that has helped define what we know of today’s culture of line up, and the other desperate measures fiends go through to get the gear they have to have. After all, Saturday is also THE day to get out and about, dress to impress, and be seen somewhere come nighttime…..dipped in the flyest of ‘fits!
So, in true in Extra Butter fashion we would like to revive this experience by introducing the “BUCK-DIME” program. A program that makes gettin’ fresh - affordable, and neccessary. Below is our shipment of the new Nike Quickturn tees. Just in time for spring – the way the “BUCK-DIME” program works is for $110 or a “BUCK-DIME” cats can cop a classic white/white or black/black Air Force 1, with one of these crispy new Nike tees which designs and messages stem from the very shoe you’re matching it to – “the uptown”….

Ups and a tee for $110 a.k.a. a “buck-dime”!?!?! After that use the extra savings and catch a matinee and really make it an Extra Butter kind of Saturday!!
We also decided to give a different taste to the basic AF1 silhouette by re-lacing them up, adding some flavor, and giving the overall look the Extra Butter treatment.

And while that explains Saturday…have you checked your calendar?? – Sunday is of significance as well.
Think Canibus on “2nd Round K.O.” – “the greatest rapper of all time died on March 9th”.
This Sunday – treat yourself to a “t-bone steak, cheese eggs, and welch’s grape”…OR share a moment at Extra Butter, as we’ll be playing Biggie Smalls all day long celebrating Brooklyn’s finest!!

(Just in case you didn’t recognize the inspiration origin)
SLICKER than your average poppa,
Extra Butter… (thanks to Evan for thorough contribution on this entire post and project)

No commentsAJ X Levi’s Recap & Cine-Mania party!!
The Air Jordan X Levi 23/501 launch was insane. The Butter team was out in town grubbing late to come back to the shop before 10pm to see 4 people already lined up for the release. Thank you from Extra Butter for being so rugged…hope the hot cocoa helped a little… The AJ X Levi release was definitely of serious magnitude…just the beginning of more to come…
While the madness of the release dominated the day, we also celebrated my Cine-mania birthday with a movie character costume party in the late evening. Check the pics – thanks to everyone for being apart of this!
Russ – Pee Wee Herman, put the party together like a champ – thanks so much!!

Here I am (the Prince of Zamunda) with one of the winner’s of best costume – Juno. Safe to say 85% of the people in attendance really thought she was pregnant.

The other winner was Omer – killing it with the serious Pirates of the Carribean impression of Jake. Also – the lovely Caitlin as Betty Boop.
