I met Ed and the rest of the EK5OBITION fam out in Las Vegas back in February. I was fairly familiar with their brand remembering that I actually had the “I <3 NastY” tee they came out with about a year ago. The guys are all chill and very immersed in b-boy & dj culture which gave us a lot in common. They also introduced me to their sister brand called DAME DECO which I’m positive will feed the female need in streetwear culture. Their spring lines both showcase solid graphics with colors perfectly primed to shine smooth in the spring.

Saw IRONMAN Friday….nice to see Ghostface on the screen in Tony Starks’ plane.  But just so you know…don’t do what we did, rush out and leave during the credits (surprisingly not due to Level 5′s)…stay till the end to see another segue into the sequel.  We all loved it, probably one of the best blockbuster movies to come out in a while…. check the New Era’s….

Extra Butter had the evil pleasure of teaming up with New York based VLNY BRND and photographer Angelica Glass for their 2008 spring look book. Showcasing part one of their spring collection, the look book features four new designs revolving around a villainous central theme.

This project was a blast as we also saw the world’s largest pig, pony’s with over-sized heads, a b.s. snake lady, lots of creeps stalking Whit, and I got bruised ribs from some bootleg ride. Couldn’t have had more fun working with VLNY’s Ashdin & Omar…models Whitney, Liz & Dave…and of course the superstar photographer everyone raves about – Angelica. Big buttery thanks to everyone for the hard work put in… including Alex-”Hey Guys” for holding the curtain.

To further celebrate the completion of the look book and the release of the new VLNY tees we threw a “Risky Business” themed party which stems from VLNY’s “Flyentology” design and also happens to be an Extra Butter film favorite. VLNY provided the party people with wayfarer shades, John dropped the champagne haha, we showed the movie, Hey Guys killed the cypher, b-boys got risky on the floor, and Russ took it to another level coming out dressed as Joel Goodsen, which is Tom Cruise’s character in the movie. Russ paid hommage the most famed scene in the film to add to the night. Don’t worry -it was just for this event.
