Last week before the heatwave hit we went to this festival in Freeport and made the mistake of eating this place Otto’s. We should have known to stick to Bigelow’s in RVC. You probably heard by now, but last Sunday our friends and famalam from Special Sauce and Rawthentix hosted a N.E.R.D. event for their new album “Seeing Sounds” dropping this Tuesday, June 10th.

Highlights included DJ Nick Pepe on the one’s and two’s, skaters competed in a best trick contest, massive gorilla artwork from the album cover done by HEF (FX Crew), the Rawthentix b-boys/girls, Ashy Larry on the roof, Prince Paul in the place to be, N.E.R.D. lacing the Sauce massive with joints off their new album, and signing the records after the show.

As we get closer to election time, it becomes more and more about what you’re about, what you stand for, etc. Anti-war, Pro-choice, how about Pro Mama…. and not just because my mom’s the greatest, but this is an example of a collaboration done to perfection. Most people spent Memorial Day weekend shopping, swimming, bbq-ing, copping butter…most of us were working hard, craving good food and sun. Sir Bam la Roc’s b-day was last Wednesday, which meant yet another all day BBQ affair at his crib… ribs for days, Bam’s bbq sauce, linoleum on the patio, degenerate frisbee games, and swords!? Bam’s birthday basically means summer has arrived.
