EXTRA BUTTER is looking for a qualified individual for an INTERNSHIP in the Long Island/NYC area.

The intern will assist in visual/in-store/web merchandising, writing and researching articles/stories, event planning, photography, and other fashion/retail tasks.

*Having a real interest in street culture, sneaker culture, movies, creative design, and an interest in the shops/boutiques of that nature – is a must!!*

Skills requires:

-Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment
-Hard working/good time management skills – (we grind with vigor and we want the likewise)
-Strong computer skills (no wizardry necessary, but someone who can do some of this and some of that) Proficiency in Photoshop, WordPress Blogs, Facebook, Myspace….a ++PLUS++

Our homies on the left coast – EK5OBITION are at it again…bright and bold colors mixed with super fresh design somehow still keep me warm, even though it’s straight brrrrrrrick out! EK5 always brings tees with mucho flavor and even with it being freezing out – can’t resist rockin’ anyway…or storing away for that getaway I know you’re all planning. I sure am…

Okay so real talk…most people have a staring problem – especially when you stay dipped in Butter. “Let em Stare” says EK5…your shirt will stare back – a matching mugsy will do the trick as well.

“Thought Provokers” should just be everyone’s mantra, but it’s not our fault everyone can’t handle it. EK5 pushes for it regardless, and is flawlessly represented is this highly symbolic shirt.

I was always into Red and Meth…I have to admit I even dug the movie a bit…but lately I’m into Jimmy. Not sure how I spent this much time on earth without really listening to him, but leave it up to Guitar Hero World Tour to put me on. Anyhow “Kiss the Sky” is back!

…and so is “Beat Riders”, always feel the beat, but this one’s got a twist to it. The front graphic has a certain BMX feel to it, and the graphic on the back (not shown muahaha) is a pleasant message to the gas guzzlers via the bmx, fixed, and non-driving alike.

EK5 takes me back with this one. Both colorways were touched to perfection and it’s no secret that we have an obsession with the “Abnormal”. As happy as I was to have two of the biggest weirdos I know pose for this pic, I was in a little bit of a depression not having Alex (the strangest kid I know) present as well. Nevertheless, I enjoyed taking this pic and simply directing them to behave like they normally would and BOOM…got it!

“Crazy visions!!”…like Tony Starks with the blue & cream – the answers are all there. “Visualize” through sound and color ALL DAY!!

Lastly is the “Instigators” – another design with speaking with resounding volume on the state of affairs whether it be within the industry, amongst your people, and of course the legions of haters.

We’re even more “out for blood”, like Dexter or Bill Compton…but we still love you!!

Look what just touched down…available in limited quantities – each team MJ took rings from will drop in it’s own 6 Rings colorway – starting off with Magic’s L.A. Lakers…laser detailing references and a small ice bottom panel over the Laker section.

Conscious and sophisticated, A Tribe Called Quest embodied early 90′s Hip Hop and the Golden Age as we know it today. Q- tip’s smooth and reserved lyrics combined with Phife Dog’s party rocking, is the perfect recipe for true Hip Hop . The Low End Theory, released in 1991 will be forever recognized as one of the most influential albums in Hip Hop History. The sexy female silhouette comprised of red and green stripes for the album cover, serves as a perfect segway for the music. Much like The Low End Theory, the Air Jordan 1 set its mark in 1985 as a daring basketball shoe which challenged the environment in which it was placed. These awesome girls came all the way out to Extra Butter from Huntington to cop their boyfriends presents for the holidays. With the Dame Deco flyness and the other female goodies we got in stock…kinda wondering when they’re bfs are gonna return the favor!?…they deserve nothing but the best!!

The story with this 6 Rings is it sort of hieroglyphic-ally tells the story of Michael’s road to his 6 championships. It’s all in the color story and laser-etching…the icey panels on the sole also reveal pictures of Godzilla (Sir Charles’ – Phoenix Suns), the Space Needle (Sonics – pre…whatever their team is even called now..wow..bring the Sonics back to Seattle, make them SUPER, and resurrect the Reign Man Shawn Kemp please!), and some guy blowing a horn (Utah Jazz – remember Jordan doing Byron Scott dirty with the push off?!)

The other teams include the L.A. Lakers, and my beloved Portland Trailblazers, which still hurts to this day because I wanted Drexler to get his championship with Rip City…all good though – the Rockets win over a pre-Kazaam Shaq was satisfying enough.

The “Championship Pack” 6 Rings has arrived and has the release date of this Saturday – 1/24

A lot of people have been fooled by the samples that first came out and have surfaced all over the internet – which depict the lasering in way more colors making the shoe appear somewhat clown-ish. A simple tone down did just the trick, leaving this 6 Rings looking slick!!

My favorite month of the year – February is approaching soon. His airness – a fellow pisces, was born on February 23rd (just 3 days before mine). The birthstone for our short dated, but glorious month is Amethyst – which is the significance of the purple you see featured below.

The Girls True Flight is reminiscent of the Flint Grey AJ7′s that came out in ’06 and the Girls AJ1 High Strap’s are royally amazing coming decked out in nylon, metallic patent swoosh, and sexy printed satin interior.

We also got the True Flights for guys which release this Saturday, in the black/red, and white/purple
