MISHKA Spring1 – HALLELUJAH!!
You know I felt a lot better being away from New York for a bit, so I decided to take another trip and bring some of the guys that didn’t get to enjoy sunny Las Vegas. The new MISHKA spring line references a music movement that came out of Manchester England – which prompted us to pay a little visit.
Alex – that little freak, went inside one of those nifty British phonebooths (wearing the “Ressurection” fitted and the “Madchester Mop” shirt) to peep all the XXX flyers and make a bunch of creepy calls.

Roose is a moose, but Mishka is all about the bear, so Roose took a shot at rockin’ one of the British guard’s bearskin hats while sporting the “Hallelujah!” t-shirt – the design points back to a “Happy Mondays” album cover.

Sycko skipped any kind of real sightseeing and went straight for the Queen. Told me he wanted to read her a book and share apples with one another. He showed her the new color of the “Keep Watch” fitted and the dope colored “Judge Fudge” shirt.

As for me – I’m more of an Argentina fan – but any chance to get into a futbol game and I’m down. Especially when I can team up with a degenerate like Rooney! After I scored I stripped off my “Hallelujah” snapback, “Round and Round” tee, but left the shorts and my amazing new Mishka “Heatseeker” socks…but unfortunately no photo of that is available. Goooooooooooooooaaaaaalllllll!!!!

Had a good time overall – will be back at Butter shortly so you fiends can get your hands on new Mishka drops yourselves!!

3 commentsMassive NIKE update…
I am under the weather and semi dizzy, but new sneakers certainly make me feel better. Check out our latest from Nike…
Wmns Outbreak – Emilio Pucci. Ever hear how Foxy says “e-milio pucci” on the Neptunes produced “Yeah”? I love the way she says it – but I love this shoe more. Emilio Pucci’s geometric pattern gets the Nike twist with use of laces in the print.

Dunk Low Slip-On (kids sizes) – the colorway is perfect here, giving it a washed denim look with the little hint of liquid lime to set it off. The tongue is strapped down with elastic on the interior making for a secure fit, but the eyelets are still fully accessible for those that still want to throw laces in them.

Dunk High (kids sizes) – these are nice and bright for the spring. The fading makes me think of some sherbert ice I like to get from Ralph’s, and the tie-dye laces are too fresh!

Wmns Blazer Mid 6.0 – 6.0 does Blazers now yes! These look reminiscent of the “viotech” SB Blazers that came out a few years ago.

Wmns Dunk High 6.0 – remember the last Women’s 6.0 Dunk High that lasted 2 days…I suspect the same escape rate for these – don’t sleep…. (available from Women’s 5 – 12)

On the men’s side of things we got a new Zoom Oncore 6.0

Air Penny III is here in classic “Magic” colors

2 Men’s Dunk High Premiums. The first in Red Oxide with a gum bottom and tonal safari print, the other with a gingham plaid upper – perfect for the spring.

The retro runners we saw return last month are back in new colorways – Pegasus ’89 and Tail Wind ’92

Nike Vandal – mix of leather and canvas, classic black/yellow/white colorway.

And Vintage Blazers in both blue and green! Super buttery suede, old Nike logo, un-sewn tongue, and all the makings of a beaten vintage shoe.

No commentsLet The Right One Win
Tonight is the 2009 Oscar Awards – I just looked through the ballot and realized I haven’t seen many of the nominees. I’m definitely hoping the best for Mickey Rourke’s performance in “The Wrestler” (I’m pulling for Marisa Tomei for the same movie – but mainly because I never stopped loving her from “My Cousin Vinny”), and of course I want Heath Ledger to get the award he deserves…
My pick for Best Film is without question “Let the Right One in”…

I’d also like to point out that with my birthday coming this week, it also happens to be a great week for films. Not only are we looking at my favorite film of all time – “True Romance” as a grand finale to our Sweet Butter Fridays – Extra Butter February Film Series…but “Let the Right One in” is also playing at Huntington’s Cinema Arts Centre for their “Theatre of the Wild” series – THIS WEDNESDAY @ both 7 and 9PM.
We’ll be attending the 9PM in case anyone would like to join….

Considering “Let the Right One in” is not even nominated for any Oscars I’ve decided to take advice from Oh Mars’ post on the Mishka Bloglin, and am going to see “Taken” which was written by Luc Besson (The Professional/Leon)!!
…while eating dinner before making my way out I caught the stunning Penelope Cruz win Best Supporting Actress for “Vicky Cristina Barcelona”, which is a favorite of the Woody Allen movies.
Movie madness!!

3 commentsButter on the rocks…
The slogan “what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas” is true for certain situations, but in others – the experience is too good not to bring back. The trip overall and connections we made out here were both energizing and familial. While we can’t re-create the vibe entirely, I thought these pictures from our trip to the breathtaking Red Rock Canyon did a good job of communicating the overwhelming revitalization of energy and passion for what we do. Be it our surroundings, our grind, the truly amazing individuals we had the pleasure of bonding with…Las Vegas is truly magical.
As we drove up the first thing we saw was this vintage-style wedding party taking pics. It made me think of “Milk & Honey”…

and of course Evan the ultra-observant/eternal student spots an interesting find in the rocks, furthering or feelings of greatness and destiny – look closely…

2 commentsLast Night in Rockville Centre…
So.. since the jerks Jay, Evan, and DRC went away to Las Vegas for the Magic tradeshow, it’s only me and Roosetaf home at Extra Butter. While we don’t get to go and experience the Las Vegas feel, we still know how to get the party started in Rockville Centre. These are pictures from last night out and about in RVC.

Okay, not really. None of this actually happened and none of it is real, but we wanted some party pictures too!

3 commentsReebok Commitment Mid

Commitment is the equipment at Extra Butter. Back from 1989 are these outrageous Commitment Mid’s by Reebok. Looking like a golden find from a thrift store, the Commitment Mid features a distinctive profile with a velcro strap in the middle completing the look. They are now available in-store and at our webstore.
