MISHKA Movie Night - “MARTYRS”
MISHKA Movie Night is back at Extra Butter with a special screening of the controversial french horror film - Pascal Laugier’s “MARTYRS”!!

I first read about “Martyrs” on the Mishka Bloglin post by Notorious P.I.G. and have been stalking a chance to watch this ever since. The film also made the Mishka Bloglin’s Top 5 Horror Films of 2008 list - all of which have become favorites of mine (except I’m still working on tracking down “Vinyan”).
My friend Justin Ishmael over at Alamo Drafthouse Cinema & Mondo Tees is awesome, and hooked me up with a copy of the film a few weeks ago. I watched it on a night where the power went out in my house and luckily had enough juice in my laptop to check it out. I have to admit, this really was one of the most difficult films for me to watch. While I did not puke or run away from watching it like others did when it debuted at many film festivals, I was peaking through the hands covering my eyes, and nearly shut the laptop several times. But, having said that…I still found this to be an extremely interesting, well done, and necessary film to see…one that I feel has left me with a profound experience that I still have yet to make full sense of, because of the way this film shook me up.
So if you’re game for it…(and I highly recommend you don’t miss out) - come down this Saturday, April 4th at 8pm and join us and Mishka for what should surely be an intense evening to remember. If not…at least come by during the day bearing gifts for the birthday boy of the evening - Roose the Moose!
**Please arrive early and call (#516.632.5150)/e-mail (extrabutterny@gmail.com) to RSVP as space is limited - and don’t say I didn’t warn you…about the brutal shockingness of this amazing film**

Hope everyone enjoyed pics from Wednesday night’s “BENTO BASH“….it turned out to be another late night in RVC, with many people in town out and about enjoying the decent weather.
While the passerby’s usually stare into the shop with the curiosity sparked from our Friday Night Movie Screenings, this time around they caught us setting up shop for this…a barrage of Nike’s to keep you fully fiendish for April. Here’s what we got…
Air Force II Premium & Blazer Hi Premium(Wii Pack) - as you may have seen already - these are our main reason for hosting tonight’s Extra Butter Wii Night. I explained a bit of the features already, but I have to note again, the clear paneling, circuit print usage, tonal safari print around the toe box, and ostrich leather usage, really all comes together to make one of the most flawless Nikes I’ve seen in a while.
And if those aren’t fresh enough - here are 2 more that have had our phone ringing off the hook for the past week or so. The Air Griffey Max 1 is back and finally here - in all it’s Seattle Mariner colorway glory. And sticking with the same color story is the “Fresh Water” Air Max 95’s…a colorblock choice, sure to put 95’s back atop the list of most sought after kicks.
And while we’re on the subject of taking things back… I’m personally pleased to see 2 more shoes that directly hit the pleasures of a past life. The Air Tech Challenge Hybrids fuse the bright colorways and stand out styles of the original Andre Agassi line…my absolute favorite as a kid.
And the Air Presto - takes me back to when I just got out of college and finally had some dough to treat myself to a pair of sneakers…sneakers I knew I would venture off on my own and learn how to b-boy in, and did! These lightweight, sock-like classics are so warmly welcomed back it’s ridiculous…be on the lookout for other colors that are set to roll in as well.
But enough storytelling for now…here’s the rest of the butter you really ought ta treat your feet to.
Air Trainer III - (originally worn by Bo Jackson) - a new sweet for the Spring season colorway.
A new member to the trainer family, Nike’s RT1 (Revolutionary Trainer 1) makes a strong debut with smooth leather, simple finish, and outstanding construction.
The new Dunk High Premium (grey) & Dunk High Supreme (orange) both feature minimalist 3m accents that really set the shoe off.
A new silhouette to the 6.0 family, we were all excited to see the staple 6.0 Zoom Oncore, get done in a Hightop version. The upper now takes on an almost Jordan 7-like feel to it, while keeping it’s usual skate silhouette.
People tend to start running in the Spring, and with this new color of Air Max 90’s, you can still run with style, and floss with flavor.
Also a pleasant surprise is the “Ice Breaker” Blazer Mid in solid black with wild neo-turquoise stitching that gives the upper a whole new look.
And lastly for the ladies…we got you too, don’t worry. 2 Dunk High Skinny’s… 1 featuring Cherry or “Les Cerises“ and the other featuring gold foil and Butterfly print, from the famed French textile designer - Paule Marrot Editions.
There you have it, we’ll see you this weekend!

The collaboration between all parties involved (Taiko, Lan Labs, Milk & Honey) speaks volumes for what Rockville Centre has to offer as a destination spot for all of life’s indulgences…especially food, entertainment, technology and lifestyle.

1 commentMore Jumpman For the Spring
Today we just got another shipment of Air Jordans. Looking at the AJ 2009 really makes me miss playing the game of basketball. The sneaker has all the parts to make a great basketball shoe. When you try it on there’s an instant feeling of comfort and ankle support. Not to mention the shiny, dope buttery black leather. The release date on these is April 4th.
We also received the Jordan 6 Rings (Flint). This colorway came out really sick. It’s made with a clean white pebble leather, and the french blue material is bonkers, very true to it’s original forms. The best part is the super smooth gray suede that goes along the mid sole and also highlights the Jordan 8 strap. Don’t sleep on these, they come out this Saturday, March 28th. (available in kids sizes as well)
Ehhh whats up jock? I wonder what this could be for?

HARES ON THE WAY!

No comments10 Deep Spring: Nineteen Ninety-NOW
I know you like coming here to check out our pretty faces, but this time around we’ve got some product shots, and some info behind the designs (because we’re nice like that) for you from the new 10 Deep Spring delivery. (If you want to see our faces, you can always just come down, but we know you like to stalk)
Anyway, the theme for the Spring is “Nineteen Ninety-NOW”. How many people were into the stuff they’re into back in the early 90’s?? Raise your hands!! 10 Deep takes us back there, to the non-raped visions that are reminiscent of Black Moon and Gran Puba videos…preppy looks/styles completely re-interpreted, and Afrocentric themes that vividly paint pictures of yesteryear.
The “Deep Set Crewneck” undeniably points to the still highly fiended for Polo of the early 90’s. Even our friends and Polo connoisseurs at SB Wear were quick to hit me up talkin’ about -
“YO JAY! I need that 10 Deep crew”
“Which?”
“The Polo joint”
“Oh worrrrd!”
Well here it is - besides the sexy hits on the sleeve, the front features snap button pockets, with the back featuring the 3-stripe print that lays as background to the design on the front.

The “Dolo Sport HD” is a diagonal, 3 piece/color pull-over with half-side zipper that was so strikingly classic, that I straight up shed my current outfit and opted to go with this to keep me right for the day.

The “New Deal” t-shirt echoes that feeling we’re all consumed with lately…that the mighty dollar has fallen. Light bright blue colorway crisp for the Spring.

The “X logo” tee is back as well…this time around getting the Malcolm X treatment. It was just a matter of time really…coinciding perfectly with 10 Deep’s solid branding, it also fits current styles such as the frames I’ve been seeing people rocking, whether or not they even need eyeglasses for their intended purpose. I know my man MUNZ will find this perfect coupled with his black leather Africa medallion!

There’s plenty more to the line that you will see roll in, amongst other treats we have in store for you.
But to get a taste of what’s to come - peep 10 Deep’s Spring “Nineteen Ninety-Now” preview video.
