MISHKA Movie Night - “MARTYRS”
MISHKA Movie Night is back at Extra Butter with a special screening of the controversial french horror film - Pascal Laugier’s “MARTYRS”!!

I first read about “Martyrs” on the Mishka Bloglin post by Notorious P.I.G. and have been stalking a chance to watch this ever since. The film also made the Mishka Bloglin’s Top 5 Horror Films of 2008 list - all of which have become favorites of mine (except I’m still working on tracking down “Vinyan”).
My friend Justin Ishmael over at Alamo Drafthouse Cinema & Mondo Tees is awesome, and hooked me up with a copy of the film a few weeks ago. I watched it on a night where the power went out in my house and luckily had enough juice in my laptop to check it out. I have to admit, this really was one of the most difficult films for me to watch. While I did not puke or run away from watching it like others did when it debuted at many film festivals, I was peaking through the hands covering my eyes, and nearly shut the laptop several times. But, having said that…I still found this to be an extremely interesting, well done, and necessary film to see…one that I feel has left me with a profound experience that I still have yet to make full sense of, because of the way this film shook me up.
So if you’re game for it…(and I highly recommend you don’t miss out) - come down this Saturday, April 4th at 8pm and join us and Mishka for what should surely be an intense evening to remember. If not…at least come by during the day bearing gifts for the birthday boy of the evening - Roose the Moose!
**Please arrive early and call (#516.632.5150)/e-mail (extrabutterny@gmail.com) to RSVP as space is limited - and don’t say I didn’t warn you…about the brutal shockingness of this amazing film**

Hey guys !!!
You should have invited me to join you in New York for the special screening of my film!!! I just love New York!!!! Paris is grey and cold right now…
Well I hope New Yorkers will like this not very likable film… I’m sure they’re twisted enough to get it. Enjoy the dark show!
It comes all from my worst nightmare…
