You’d think with our excitement to introduce a new brand to our roster, especially one warmly named -  “Amongst Friends”, we’d do our usual get together with our Butter  peoples, turn it into a little photoshoot, and showcase the country club summer coolness of the Amongst Friends aesthetic.

But with the gorgeous weather as of late, everyone was out and about doing summer things, while Alex and I held down the fort. So after work we decided to kick back at Long Horns Saloon & Barbecue around the corner, for some drinks and say cheers to something new…Amongst Friends.

Here is the pack that I have been waiting for! Just the sneaker packaging alone makes me drool. The sneaker box resembles the old Boston Garden-famed parquet floor. Just looking at this brings me back to the video clips of Magic’s game winning hook shot in the paint of the 1987 championship, or when Havlicek stole the ball to clinch game seven of the 1965 Eastern Conference Championship…not to mention any of Larry Bird’s game winning clutch threes.

Another perhaps unfriendly Boston Garden memory was on April 20th 1986, when Michael Jordan dropped 63 points on the Celtics. This game help lift Jordan to stardom and after the game Larry Bird was quoted by saying, “He is the most exciting, awesome player in the game today. I think it’s just God disguised as Michael Jordan.” That’s high praise coming from a legend himself.
