Nom De Guerre Adidas Forum Mid

September 23rd, 2009 | Category: New Arrivals

As part of the Adidas Originals Five Two-3 Project, Adidas invited 5 influential global fashion brands to collaborate on various Adidas models. For the Forum Mid, Adidas enlisted the menswear brand Nom De Guerre who’s ideology stems from the repression of ones identity in order to operate as a collective. Taking design cues and functionality from the United States Military jungle boot such as waxed laces and a zipper enclosure, Nom De Guerre also transformed the Forum’s ankle strap to resemble war hospital gauze bandaging. The sole serves as an homage to the countless hours spent on target training. The final product, is a multi-facited shoe which is able to withstand various climates and terrain.

The Nom De Guerre x Adidas Originals Forum Mid is available now both in-store and online. For more info, select the pictures above, or call/email us at 1.516.632.5150/extrabutterny@gmail.com.

Vans Vault Chukka Del Barco Lx (Midnight Navy/Turtledove)

September 21st, 2009 | Category: New Arrivals

The 3rd colorway of Chukka Del Barco’s, from the Vans Vault Fall delivery has just touched down. I thought they were Polo-esque, L’amour calls them the “LL Bean looking ones”…either way they’re fly, and judging from the previous 2 Chukka Del Barco’s, won’t be here for too long.

Royal Tenenbaums Poster by Mondo Tees x Daniel Danger

September 20th, 2009 | Category: Now Playing...

If I had to make a list, off the top I’d say my 2nd favorite film writer/director is Wes Anderson. My favorite film from his short but stellar resume is “The Royal Tenenbaums”.

So many things stand out to me about this movie - from the Gene Hackman’s Golden Globe-winning comedic performance (Doug and I stay quoting old Royal) and the incredibly scenic way New York was shot. Or how about the unforgettable bathroom scene with Richie set to Elliot Smith’s “Needle in the Hay”, Chas’ whole family making full Adidas track suits look ill, and of course the strange, but endearing relationship between Richie and Margot Tenenbaum.

Mondo Tees worked with Daniel Danger on their own limited print rendition of the movie poster depicting one of the movies sweetest scenes.

028.JPG

Don’t sleep on Mondo Tees as these film-related posters and tees fly fast! There was a “Re-Animator” one that disappeared just as fast as your most hyped sneaker, and I’m assuming there are very few of the amazing “Breakfast Club” and “16 Candles” posters pictured here.

Future Father’s Day screening followed by board games, a la the Tenenbaum’s game closet…I think so!

Thanks to Justin at Mondo for hooking it up!!

Adidas Superstar II Method Man

September 17th, 2009 | Category: New Arrivals

As one of the foremost members of the Wu-Tang collective, Method Man makes his footwear debut on the Adidas Superstar II. An interesting combination of materials surround the shoe, including smooth leather, suede, and ripstop. His image graces the tongue and the upside down ‘W’ symbol takes subtle precedence on the heel; a symbol Method Man uses as his logo.

Vans Vault Fall 2009

September 17th, 2009 | Category: New Arrivals

Vans Vault is synonymous with quality, particularly in this Taka Hayashi Collection. Inspired by Native American motif’s, each model is masterfully crafted with the most premium of leathers, stitching, and hardware.

The Akat LX is an absolute masterpiece. It is wrapped in the smoothest, bitter chocolate leather and contains various intricate patterns and stitching. giving the shoe nostylgic and historic character.

The Velocita LX is sleek and mysterious. An unassuming silhouette is met with intricate construction and hidden detail. Underneath the trademark Taka Hayashi feather logo on the tongue, reveals a velcro stay for the rounded waxed laces. When flipped up, a rear heel tab shows a primary striped color pattern.

The Chukka Mok LX is simple and understated. A soft black suede upper is met with tonal stitching at the toe as well as a native style traingular pattern at the heel.

After selling out in less than a day, the No Quarter LX (below) has been restocked. A certain someone even ‘ran his town’ in these ;)

Air Jordan 1 Phat (GS)

September 15th, 2009 | Category: New Arrivals

Okay, so you’ve been to our blog like 15x today and girls are sucking their teeth going “where’s the !@#$ are the J’s for girls!?”

Well here they are, and I don’t care if they’re pink or “china rose” to be exact…these, like most Jordan drops for girls these are just exquisite. The releases are always so good it makes me wish there was a lady Air Jordan that could start now and have the career he did, so we can see her rock these colorways through the years.

The new fat/phat tongue makes it comfy (says Victoria) and the collar lining interior is…amazing. Rich black pebbled leather and pink patent as well!

Air Jordan Spiz’ike Winterized Boot

September 15th, 2009 | Category: New Arrivals

Sorry folks…summer is close to over. Before you know it fall will be here for all of 3 weeks and then winter! I’m hoping for a longer fall, but in any event, when the weather starts to turn Air Jordan has a great new option in the “Spiz’ike Winterized Boot”.

Not to be slept on - theses are rockable…rain or snow, and not be totally boot-ed out.  The design stays  and contains all the regular signature Spiz’ike characteristics keeping the shoe true to form. The only differences would be the chunkier outsole which will work weather with the terrain. Along with the boot laces, premium nubuck (on the cinder brown colored pair only), and no joke buttery BUTTERY leather, the shoe also mixes in a lightweight water-repllent lining that keeps it waterproof in up to 2″ of water.
