Thanks to killer DJ cats Mick Boogie, Terry Urban and Matt Heckman, Motivation Of A Sneaker Freaker is a one-off extra special event featuring SNKRFRKR’s own M.A.F.I.A. spinnin’ on the ones and twos. With a whirlwind tour of the States going down this May, M.A.F.I.A. plans to bombard each city with as much sneaker freakin’ as possible. And what better way than with a fierce party in the Big Apple. Brought to you by our good mates at Extra Butter, MTVTN and Sneaker Freaker, it all goes down at Gallery Bar (120 Orchard St, NY) next Tues May 4th there will be plenty of sneaker goodness going down from giveaways, sneaker displays and of course a bag load of bangin’ tunes! You might have admired Roose’s over-60 year old glove that we are currently displaying, as part of our Mighty Healthy window display. With Nike having a similar outlook this season as the MH crew, they released baseball glove-inspired Bo Jackson’s to kick start the new baseball season. These are done up in a premium brown leather that might inspire you to reunite with your ol’ glove. Also featured on this 2010 trainer is Nike’s signature flywire, a scripty laser-etched “Bo Knows” on the ankle, and a photo of the man himself printed on the insole.

And if you’re into that worn-in look, I’d say that these would look legit with wear, but it might take a while if you’re trying to achieve it to Roose’s worn-in glove status.

So everyone’s familiar with the practice of flossing what you’re wearing today on a variety of different sites and forums, but we got our own space now! If you’ve caught our tweets or happen to be friends with us on facebook, you’ve probably seen this by now, but if not…here it is…

We’ve been added to the SneakerNews blogs with our own section of WDYWT (What Did You Wear Today), which will be daily photos of the kicks on our feet, and some of our friends and family as well.

Last Friday we posted live updates of people’s kicks as they came through to our Super Smash Bros. tournament/Fantastic Mr. Fox movie night we did with AnmlHse. You can look forward to regular updates of this sort, and well…some other buttery surprises as well!!

Greetings fellow thought provokers…the good folks from EK5OBITION have released a new capsule collection exclusive to one West Coast account (Store 13) and one East Coast account….US!!

Remember the teaser video they put up a little while ago? It should have given you an idea of how EK5 plans to approach the year. It’s really rather refreshing as it seems to me (and many others) that this “streetwear” market is kind of stale. My boy Bam and I got into this discussion last night, and clearly brands seem to all be doing the same type of thing, or lost some of that energy and passion that gave the brand it’s roots to begin with. This is why we commend Ek5obition for their new approach to things, throwing grassroots events, marketing ideas in a fresh way, and dropping new products that push the design envelope while still embracing their heritage. Exceeding the norm….again and again!

The collection consists of 2 tees in 2 different colorways. “No Requests” and “Jitterbug” have the aesthetics that should appeal to anyone with a fresh eye, and of course my fellow b-boys and DJ’s out there!

To be honest, there’s not much left as we’ve had these a few weeks now and our faithful scooped up.
