Today we bring you a new SK8-Hi from Vans, a special make-up they did with the Oregon snowboard outerwear kings at HOLDEN. The brand gives the classic Vans SK8-Hi a premium makeover mixing in waxed canvas and buttery leather along the upper and inside of the shoe.

Mostly blacked out with the exception of the midsole and the interior, the shoe also comes with a Holden x Vans tongue tag that stands out boldly in bright red. You can skate these babies for sure, but you could also clean your next outfit up with a little something premium with these here as well.

With the shop’s birthday recently passing, I spent a lot of time looking back to our beginnings. Mostly rewinding the times through this very blog, I found myself with a smile that simply wouldn’t go away.

There’s been some ups and downs, but through it all, one of the things I’m most proud of is the way in which we’ve done things during these early stages of our birth. We do things our way, the butter way I guess…and I believe its a thing of beauty.

At times I feel we’ve done things that maybe flew over people’s heads – not because we’re great and esoteric, but just because we are us…So with the recent drop of our Wet Hot Buttery Summer collection we wanted to expand a bit on the designs and give everyone a “closer look”.

I start with the “Official Selection” – Silverscreen colorway, a color choice concept paying homage to my favorite part of our shop…the movie screen. I feel this logo has become our best, and I’ve been thoroughly enjoying seeing this edition added to our original bold black and gold, and regal burgundy with gold.

A crowning moment for a movie, being given the title of “Official Selection” for an esteemed film festival, along with the clever play on words – this was a match made in design heaven. It’s the logo you floss when you want to rep who you rock with, and shows your choice as being 1First Quality1.

Sperry is bringing the style for the Fall. The Sperry team decided to adapt their signature boat shoe chukka into a high-top fully suede fringe boot. The soft suede boot comes in the smooth Cognac colorway which is then accessorized by the Cognac leather laces and the brace fixtures found throughout the shoe. The studded brace is found alternating throughout the fringe pattern and is also found on the shoe’s eyelets and boat shoe laced collar.

This versatile boot should be a staple in any closet, with enough style to be both dressed up and worn casually, and the constructed to have year around appeal the Sperry Brookhaven Boot is a no brainer. Pick up yours this weekend.

Get your trail mix ready because we just got a double header of Nike ACG Lava loveliness. The quickstrike Nike ACG Lava pack is composed of a pair Nike Air Lava Dome 2.4′s and a Nike Dunk Hi Vintage, two all terrain shoes that are built for the trails. The already tried and tested Nike Lava Dome 2.4′s are paired up with the hybrid Dunk Hi which gets an All Condition Gear make over with a durable suede and mesh upper that is all locked down by the sturdy D-ring eyelets,  giving that keen Dunk style to a fulling functioning outdoors shoe.

This Saturday a staple in the Air Jordan series will be available once again, the Air Jordan 5 Retro in Black, Metallic Silver and Varsity Red will be touching down just in time for back to school. The original AJ5′s were released back in 1990, then after a 20 year wait they were re-released in 2000 and then once again in 2007. This time however Jordan Brand has made a few key changes to the classic silhouette that some dedicated Jordan heads have been taking notice of. For the most part all of the usual bells and whistles are there, the Black nubuck upper, the 3M reflective tongue, the translucent mesh on the side panel and the speckle zig pattern on the midsole. The additions to this years release will be the “23″ found on the heel of the shoe and the blue tinted outsole. This Saturday these Air Jordan 5 Retros will be available in both men’s and grade school sizes during regular store hours.

With all of the comfort of it’s high top counterpart and a low profile, casual upper, the Nike LeBron 8 V/2 Low are the perfect off season steppers. With last year’s popular release of the Nike LeBron 8′s taking the sneaker scene by storm, many of the Miami Heat themed color-schemes might of had the sneaker community hungry for some variety. So it would seem that Nike are being a little more experimental with the LeBron Low’s. With eye popping drops like the Solar Red and the Sprite colorways the Wolf Grey LeBron Low’s takes a low-key yet sophisticated flip of the shoe. With a monochromatic blend of Greys and Metallic Silvers the Wolf Grey Nike LeBron 8 V/2 Low are winning.

Last Thursday night the Extra Butter extended family got together to celebrate the release of our latest collection at The Beach House RVC. With the world-renowned DJ collective 1st Time Veterans on the wheelz of steel and Beach House providing the fried chicken, the atmosphere was set for an epic night of partying – Extra Butter styley.

I’m not too sure the regular Beach House crowd knew what hit them, but they were defintely down with the movement. We really had a great time celebrating the Wet Hot Buttery Summer collection, and we appreciate everyone who came out. Special thanks to Beach House RVC for letting us rock the entire night.
