September 27th, 2011 | Category: Brands,New Arrivals,TOMS

Adorable? You got that right. The ever popular TOMS line has just introduced a tiny new addition to their collection. The Tiny Toms are the pint sized versions of the beloved TOMS styles. We have three fun new styles all specially made for toddlers.

The first in the TOMS Classics in the Pink Sparkle colorway. The shimmery slip-on has all the finer details as the larger models, such as the patterned lining and a comfortable rubber outsole. Similar to the Classics are the Tiny TOMS Cordones slip-ons which comes in a cool Navy Corduroy, a sophisticated look for those fastly maturing tots looking to get their “grown man” on. And last but not least, the snazzy Tiny TOMS  Botas in the Pink Wool is a sure shoe for any forward thinking toddler out there who is looking to sharpen up an ensemble.

Nike Total Air Foamposite Max – Metallic Silver/Black-Photo Blue

September 27th, 2011 | Category: Brands,Coming Soon...,Nike

With it’s captivating metallic silver upper and detailed foamposite construction it might come as a surprise to some that the Nike Total Air Foamposite Max belonged to “The Big Fundamental”. That’s right! Way back in the day of the “Twin Towers” (not a 9/11 pun), fresh off his rookie yea,r a young Tim Duncan was the hottest thing in basketball. While on his championship run back in 1998 Tim Duncan dawned the Total Air Foamposite Max which seemed to be a supped up anodized version of his previous Nike shoe, the Nike Air Total Max Uptempo. The luster of a Foamposite sneaker never really seemed to pair well with Tim’s basic and understated style of play (which is probably why he went with Adidas shortly after), but Total Air Foams will always be a staple in 90′ basketball sneaker styling.

For those of you who thought that Penny Hardaway was the only NBA player with a Foampoosite sneaker, check out Timmy pumping the Total Air Foams in this 1998 Nike ad.

So after a being on hiatus for over a decade Nike is finally releasing the Total Air Foamposite Max in a colorway very similar to original, the one exception being the addition of the shocking Photo Blue accents found on the 2011 edition. The Photo Blue accents pair well with the sharp Metallic Silver and Black color-scheme. The unique ripples found on the sides of the sneaker are one of the trademark staples, setting these apart from any other Foamposite release. For all of you Foamposite fans these aren’t the ones to miss out on. The Nike Total Air Foamposite Max will be available during regular store hours this Friday, September 30th.

RELEASING: Friday, September 30th 2011

Adidas Originals for October – Pro Models, Gazelles, Sambas, and more!

September 24th, 2011 | Category: Adidas,Brands,New Arrivals

Originals in the house!! Had to say something old school to keep the feel true for this Adidas drop…

Starting out with my personal fave – the Gazelle OG in this beautiful burgundy. If you saw the Bo Jackson Trainer SC II’s that we posted earlier in the week, but the shoe seems too robo-technical for you, the Gazelle OG is simplicity personified.

We also received the OG version in a clean “sharp grey”, and the Gazelle 2 in a vibrant blue with rich navy stripes.

The AR 2.0 is back in it’s second color – a navy that’s surely a winner for the Fall. Gold metal accents pop off nice against the navy upper.

More of the navy color but this time with the classic Samba. This color goes with a ton of gear at the shop right now, and for the college football U-Michigan fans, this one is perfect.

We also brought the Samba in a unique color, “orange spice” that pair up nice with some of the denim you’ve probably started to break out lately.

Lastly, a true original – the Pro Model is back. This is a legendary shoe whether it comes to basketball, hip-hop, and fashion overall. Available in the classic white/red and black with army green. I’m sure the older gods will be flocking in for these…

Nike ACG Premium Boot – Midnight Fog/Dark Copper

September 22nd, 2011 | Category: Brands,New Arrivals,Nike

The weather is ideal right now, what some of us like to call “hoodie weather’. But the harsher weather’s right around the corner and that means you’re going to need to bust out the adequate hardware… introducing the Nike ACG Premium Boot. This heavy duty boot is definitely built for all conditions, the sturdy upper is composed of a premium leather which is treated with the Nike vac-tech technology. The majority of the boot is waterproof and the interior of the shoe is built with a reinforced Gore-Tex lining to keep your feet both warm and dry regardless of your surroundings.

The dark gray Midnight Fog colored upper pairs well with the Dark Copper toned tongue which is composed of a perforated leather and rip-stop nylon blend. The entire shoe sits comfortably upon a 360 air bag unit that allows for a pleasant step through whatever this Winter has in store for you.

Nike Air Maestro Flight – Medium Grey/Solar Red

September 22nd, 2011 | Category: Brands,New Arrivals,Nike

We just got in the latest drop of the Nike Air Maestro Flight, and I must admit that I’m impressed. The Maestro Flights have been the staple basketball shoe for a hand full of NBA players since the mid 90′s when they were released. The light weight composition of the shoe makes for a comfortable fit, and this style’s clean color-scheme seems to set them apart from past releases.

The smooth Medium Grey upper of the shoe blends well the Black and White accents, but the shoe gets kicked up a notch with the vibrant Solar Red hits found on the midsole, outsole, and “Flight” logo. These have the makings of a “Must Cop” shoe, don’t miss out!

A Special SNEAKER FREAKER Report – Why the iPhone is killing the sneaker industry

September 21st, 2011 | Category: Now Playing...

Woody does it again. Another gem to add to his on-going, must have, MUST READ STUDY, features that make for…I guess what I’d call a bible, or some reading document of the highest importance.  I’m not going to sit here a link a bunch of articles that he and his team at Sneaker Freaker have brought to our world. I am here 3 hours after closing time (not complaining), I just ate, still have more to do, and blah blah blah. I’m taking the time to share this feature, and bypassing my hesitation that it will go over people’s heads and just be scoured for pictures (there won’t be any worth tumbl-ing), because this is OUR life. The brief description I wrote above is a small percentage, but this article deals with a big one. One I had to wait until now to clear some space and really give my undivided attention to.

It may not be for everyone, in fact I know it’s not. But, keep in mind – when you come by the shop, e-mail, jeez…sometimes even tweet me for advice on “how to open my own store/start my own brand”, if I get the sense you haven’t been religiously reading Sneaker Freaker’s articles on the many facets of our industry…you most likely won’t get a response (especially via any social media tool). This feature gives a snapshot..or perhaps a panoramic shot at what’s going on right now within our industry – and the effects it’s taking on every level from the designers, to the producers, to the retailers, and to the consumers. These effects are taking place right NOW, and while it’s not something anyone wishes to cause fear with, it’s beneficial to know what’s up. Know why we’re still here, and why we do things the way we do. Know why other shops have said bye-bye. Know all there is to know and take part in our culture actively with the hopes for a better future. You people buying baby J’s and such…you’d like them to have an innovative Air Jordan 2023 no? Air Max 2056 + hyperfreelunarfusedualmotionlaserwoven-something or other, would be nice as well right?

Well, while reading this and discussing it with the others in true love and connection to this industry, keep in mind I don’t mean it to be a downer. Simply, an eye-opener and another tool that one would be wise to ingest and like I said, carry our culture into the future. Woody, you’re a god. Sneaker Freaker is champ. And, do your research on all the other features they’ve done, trust me! Happy reading friends…

Nike Air Force 1 High – Obisidian – Quickstrike

September 21st, 2011 | Category: Brands,New Arrivals,Nike

A new quickstrike Air Force 1 High came in. The weather is changing, guys are jumping back into jeans, and nothing tops off a pair of new denim than a clean pair of Air Force 1 High’s…let that strap loose and tongue out and you got yourself the look. These new Air Force 1 High’s come in a navy “obsidian” colorway, well-timed as the Yankees are on the verge of clinching yet another post-season playoff birth. Perforated leather upper, gives the shoe character and sets it apart from the rest of it’s sole-mates. Check the bonus pic at the bottom as well, hahaha and there’s nothing left to say!

Nike Air Max Uptempo 2

September 21st, 2011 | Category: Brands,New Arrivals,Nike

Hello true school basketball! The Air Max Uptempo 2 is back…the shoe that donned the feet of most notably, Chris Webber, the Duke Blue Devils during the March Madness of 1995…and even Reggie Miller for some time (still mad Knicks fans?), are back in their true original colorway.

The retro release in ’06 had a yellow air bag which made the overall look of the shoe closely resemble C-Webb’s Michigan Wolverines colorway…this time they took the OG route and laced it in neon yellow/volt color. These came in today a bit early, so if you need these get your tempo up and swing through or call us quick!
