10 Deep Spring 13 – Delivery 1

March 18th, 2013 | Category: 10Deep,Brands,New Arrivals,Now Playing...

Welcome to Spring in New York! An unbelievable array of temperatures over the course of these past few weeks, as if us New Yorkers haven’t had it bad enough through the Fall and Winter. Can we just have ourselves some Spring??

Regardless of the elements at hand, while yes, dead in the middle of March we had snow coming down, but that didn’t stop us from taking some shots of the new 10 Deep Spring collection, which we all know are perfect any time, place, and season. Thanks to our friend Kevin (who you can add on instagram here) - a fellow 10 Deep hound himself, for trekking through our forest to give the pieces a try in the photos below.

There’s lots more to the collection as you could see on our webstore, but we decided to highlight some of the pieces in the photos below, such as the Black Woodland Rose “Murder City Pants”, the “Elbows In Buttondown” in their new seasonal “Nite Vision” custom camo, the highly anticipated “Nitefall Hoody” w/ the green tiger camo gradient, plus more!

EB’s Staff Picks: Ninja’s “Official Selections”

It is finally my turn at our Extra Butter ‘Official Selections’ Staff Picks. I’m not going to lie, but it was definitely hard to choose these pieces being that so many brands came in with such good holiday collections. I chose burgundy as a main color to collect pieces to put my picks together. Here it goes…
Starting off is the Rhodes Varsity Jacket in black by The Publish Brand. I’m sure many people have noticed how much black is ‘in’ this season. Black goes with almost everything and this jacket is no exception! Next up is the Marshes Snapback by Only NY. Only has been coming up with some dope designs and this hat really stuck out to me. The long sleeve button-up you see is the G.P.P.R. Peralta Shirt in blue chambray. What sticks out to me most about this piece is it’s bones stitching and it’s unique pocket. It adds the extra edge to the plain denim button-up. Talking about the pocket the shiny glasses in them is the Kipling in Translucent Red by Contego Eyewear. When I was looking for an accessory to add to my outfit I thought of these glasses right away to add an additional burgundy highlight.
Moving down to the pants is the 10 Deep Trespass pants. 10 Deep did an awesome job with the quality of these and the small stitching of the crossbones and dog mouth. The inside of the pants features some blue chambray when folded which goes perfectly with the Peralta shirt. Last but not least is the New Balance ML999 in rich burgundy and navy. These feature a pigskin suede and 3M reflective accents and finish the outfit off nicely, adding to the neutral colors and subtle shades.

EB Staff Picks: Russ’s Official Selection

November 27th, 2012 | Category: 10Deep,Brands,Mishka

I have been waiting for the right time to do my staff picks. I knew with the new 10 Deep and Mishka holiday drops coming in, they would be perfect for it. What I really wanted to do use is the “10 Deep High Post Burgundy Cargo pants”, and base the outfit around that. I really think its a perfect use of burgundy corduroy on a cargo pants style…something I never have really seen. I also added the Mishka Destroy bottle opener to the belt loop, as you it never hurts to be prepared for those non-twist off bottles.

The tops I pieced together are the “Young and Dangerous” tee with the “Native Hooded Zip”. The Young and Dangerous tee I find pretty funny and awesome at the same time, as it takes me back to when I was a kid. I always loved lions. I was always watching discovery channel for specials about lions, as I always found myself watching in awe of the “King of the Jungle”.

I am also a big fan of hooded zip-ups with pockets. 10 Depp did an amazing job with the Native Zip-up by taking a simple, heather gray hoody, and adding a printed pouch to it. The “Cuzco” print they’re using this seasn is one of the most detailed native prints I have seen. The combination of colors mixed in with the stick figures and shapes makes for a very unique print. Lastly, I added the Mishka “Keep Watch Stripped Pom Beaine”. I thought that the beanie was the ideal for the cold season we’re in, and it’s a simple classic that topped the outfit off perfectly for me.

EB Staff Picks: TK’s Official Selection

November 16th, 2012 | Category: 10Deep,Brands,G.P.P.R.,Herschel Supply Co.,Vans
What’s good guys?  Being the newest member of the Butter team, I’m stoked to be able to introduce myself through the new “Official Selections” feature that we have going on here at the blog.  Featuring some pieces from a few of my favorite brands, this is an outfit perfect for the holiday season.
10 Deep’s latest Fall drop was truly on point, and the Northwestern Flannel was one of the releases I personally copped.  Great for regular wear or even a holiday dinner, this shirt is comfortable while still providing ample warmth in the cold weather.   Also from the line is the Signature 5 Light Vintage Washed denim.  A light pair of jeans contrasts the dark colors of the flannel nicely, and holds to the quality we’ve come to expect from 10 Deep.
Underneath the flannel is The Rebel Tee from G.P.P.R.  Not only does it provide the classic white undershirt look, but the print on it is just big enough to show when the flannel is open.  The fact that “the rebel” on the shirt is rocking something similar to what this outfit offers makes it all the more clutch.
As for kicks, the Vans Oxford Toe boot offers the much needed balance of warmth and comfort essential in the winter.  Lighter than a traditional boot, they won’t leave you feeling weighed down as you walk around doing all that last minute holiday shopping.
Last but most certainly not least is the Herschel Supply Co.’s Little America in the Moss colorway we just got in here at the shop.  This bag provides plenty of space, as well as a laptop pocket to keep your computer safe on your trails.  I use my Little America almost every day and if you come in and see it you’ll understand why.  Herschel’s undeniable quality combined with their simple aesthetic makes for an awesome backpack.

EB Staff Picks – Pizza aka Poppa John aka Pizza the Hut’s Official Selections!

October 25th, 2012 | Category: 10Deep,Brands,Nike,Publish

Ladies & Gentlemen, I would like to welcome you to our frequently rotating, smooth, official selection outfit – staff picks! For our first installment, I had the honor to piece together a ‘fit that can be easily used to either go out on a nice night around town or simply just chill with your friends at home. The attire consists of the Publish “Live By” t-shirt plus some of the new 10 Deep fall 2 drop that in my eyes is by far the best that they have done (but that’s just my opinion, cause in all honestly 10 Deep never fails!)

I personally love the whole Native American or “indigenous” look they put out this year so that’s why I flipped when seeing it arrive in-store for us to sell. The very classy and dependable Publish t-shirt lightens up the heavy look. The 10 Deep “Great Plains” khaki pants with it’s tee-pee & tomahawk embroidery is nicely placed throughout the garment. I have personally bought the silver “Murder City” pants from the past, and I can say that for those of you who love your pants not too skinny, but far away from the baggy then this is the one for you since the “Great Plains” pants fit exactly the same as the “Murder City” ones (really good).

Now we move on to the all-over quill printed t-shirt by Publish. I just caught on myself that this shirt unwillingly matches with the theme that 10 Deep came out with as the similarities between Publish’s quill famously representing their timeless style, and the feather tie in well with the bison’s horn seen on the 10 Deep pieces. The shirt has a sense of class but not one that strays too far away from a piece that can be rocked in the streets with it’s company name written across the red banner.

Next is the 10 Deep Bison Varsity Jacket and Victory Chieftains hat (it’s a snapback but when I was growing up it was referred to as a hat so I’m bringing the term back lol!). One can argue that the satin material on the varsity jacket gives the red a slightly brighter look than the hat itself but in my eyes you can’t go wrong with the jacket that is out for this season period, plus you got the hat that has that old-school, shark-fin look to it that gives it that touch of sportsmanship. To bring it all together there is a bison logo and the “Chieftain” wording respectively placed on the front and back of both pieces. Now what’s this whole look without the kicks right?! You can lock this whole look down with the Nike Air Speed Turf Max still available in-store or take it a step out of the ordinary with the Nike Air Max Terra Sertig. Whether it’s too much going on or not enough I find this whole steez to be well placed together and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

10 Deep Fall Collection – Delivery 2

October 19th, 2012 | Category: 10Deep,Brands,New Arrivals,Now Playing...

For part 2 of the 10 Deep fall collection that has everyone hooting and hollering, we decided to get together with some friends and over to West Hempstead. Yes, it’s famous for it’s Cherry Valley Deli, but even more so for the Music Palace – legendary recording studio home to music greats Public Enemy, Busta Rhymes, Erick Sermon, Redman, and many others.

We met up with Con-Template & fam – TK, Snottaynose, BND, ABnorm, and Millz as they were laying down work on a posse cut that we’re very excited about sharing with you in the near future. Oh and all decked out in 10 Deep we were…as we’ve all fallen in love with a collection that has more details and quality pieces than you can handle. Victory group pieces are always highlights in the assortment, with sports-inspired apparel with the consistent theme of winning mixed in. Overall, the outerwear pieces have an underlying Native American influence to them, that are the talk of the streets and extending way further as the collection name itself implies, “Outta Bounds & Off Limits”.

The full collection of photos can be seen below after the jump.
Be sure to look out for when we drop the track on here…“hamburger please…no you’re not patty mayonnaise on my burger.”

10 Deep Summer ’12 – Wild & Peaceful

July 10th, 2012 | Category: 10Deep,Brands,New Arrivals,Now Playing...

Kicking the summer off with their classic tanks, button-downs, and snap-backs, the 10 Deep summer appeal  demonstrates their “Wild & Peaceful” slogan behind this seasons collection. The tribal and camo patterns of the tanks, shorts and t-shirts, evoke letting loose which is what the summer is really all about. The calming striped patterns incorporate relaxing, tranquil colors, perfect for the lazy summer days of pool side relaxing. Expanding to the caps, the neutral Muddy Water patterns, as well as Starter caps with a clever play on the White Sox logo, top off the seasons line up.

Clearly evident in the photos, the 10 Deep summer line truly unleashes everyone’s wild side, while keeping a smooth peacefulness. Whether you are hoping fences, moshing in a field, or just lounging in trees this summer you’ll look dope doing so.
