Asics Gel Saga ‘Kill Bill’ Recap
As you saw on last week’s blog post, the EB team was very excited for the release of the Asics Gel Saga “Kill Bill”. We happen to like the story of revenge, we happen to like Asics, we happen to like the movie, and we happen to be awesome and all get a pair and have a little fun before watching the movie Thursday night. It’s nice to have themes like this that come from the heart and unite us, and look really good on our feet.

Some shoes that release, just happen to play right into our extra buttery hands. If you know us by now, you’ll know we’re pretty into movies, but Quentin Tarantino’s “Kill Bill” happens to be near and dear to our hearts. A cinematic masterpiece on every level I can think of, Kill Bill 1 & 2, nails every thing I love about cinema from it’s characters, story line, genre tributes, soundtrack, and even the film’s fashion and overall look.
A cameo appearance in the film, the Asics Onitsuka “Tai Chi” was the shoe of choice for Uma Thurman’s character The Bride, as she took on her villains and foes. The Asics Gel Saga in yellow/black with bits of blood speckle is a perfect tie back to the film’s heroine, and a must-have for any fans of Kill Bill.
In celebration of this release and the 10 Year Anniversary of Kill Bill, we will begin to tell the story by releasing the shoes in-store – Thursday, May 2nd at 7:00pm and showing the film at the shop at 8:30pm!!
The Asics Gel Saga “Kill Bill” will be available in our online store Friday, May 3rd at 11:00am.

No commentsAsics Gel Saga & Gel Lyte III for March
Oooooooffffppph! More new Asics in the mix….we received 2 more of their classic styles, in a fresh palette of Spring colors.
The Gel Saga comes back in a mix of suede and nylon. Predominantly black with some light grey mixed in and mint accents as well. This is about as fresh as it gets, with the mint pop color. The Gel Lyte III also makes it’s return on a nylon/suede mixed upper dipped in purple. The brand striping goes grey and they’ve worked some neon colors onto the upper to bring some brightness. Asics is off to a super strong start this year, make sure you grab a pair if these catch your liking!

Did we tell you we’re excited about Asics return to the shop? The answer is yes, in the post below with the new Gel Sagas. Perhaps Asics most fiended for model would be the Gel Lyte III. The classic runner with the quirky split toe is a favorite all around and takes just about any color and any material incredibly well.
This particular pair has bright neon pop colors on a light grey suede upper. The toebox is a lightweight ripstop material with some pink nylon in the mix as well. As pictured below, they bring the neon colors down into the midsole as well, creating a sick look that always makes the Gel Lyte 3 stand out!

Runners, joggers, vintage running…whatever you want to call it, we all know Asics do damage in those categories with supreme comfort and craftsmanship built into versatile and classic looks. The Extra Butter team is particularly excited to be bringing back Asics lifestyle products strong this year, so don’t be surprised at the regularity in which you see Asics hit our shelves, but also how often they’re on our feet as well.
The Gel Saga is one of Asics most successful retro running models and we received 2 sharp and eye-catching models we’re excited to take to the streets with the Spring season starting to turn up. Both pairs feature the bright pop soles that are speckled out. The color also transfers to the laces, Asics brand read on the back, and as a subtle backing to the signature Asics striping on the upper. 2 beauties…available now (both in-store and in our new webstore), but not for long!
