“AHCHOO!”…”God Bless You!” – The sneeze heard round the world, haha. We know this may not be new news by now, but there may be some people living under a rock – or at least someplace away from the blogosphere and “innanets” (might not be a bad place by the way), and for those people, we proudly present to you – “AHCHOO”.

As we enter the shop’s 5th year we start out with a major collaboration with Reebok, a brand that has been a big part of our business since it’s inception, and for the EB-team – a brand that has been a big part of our lives. Unforgettable childhood memories of Domonique Wilkins, Michael Chang, Shawn Kemp, and of course Dee Brown. Reebok has always been a classic brand when it comes to footwear, but furthermore, an icon, within our cultural community of sports, music, and fashion.

Again, if you missed it – we were all over the blogs, and are very thankful to everyone that covered our story. The enthusiasm for this project has given us a permanent smile, and the satisfaction that the people out there “get” us. I urge people to google-about, and check out what the rest of the world has had to say about the “Ahchoo” Pump AXT, from it’s video release to the backstory and concept, and to the shoe look and design itself.

TIME OUT! Long Island’s premier sneaker boutique, Extra Butter, has teamed up with Reebok for their first collaborative release.  In customary form for the film-theme concept shop, Extra Butter finds inspiration from Dave Chappelle’s character, Ahchoo, from Mel Brooks’ Robin Hood: Men in Tights.  Though the 1993 comedy is an uncanny platform for a sneaker project, the Men in Tights Pack reveals a deep connection for both brands to this cult classic. Similar to Chappelle’s big-screen debut as Ahchoo, which marked the beginning of a successful and legendary career for the then up-and-coming comedian/actor, Extra Butter’s inauguration into the business of major brand collaborations is sure to be a prelude to more things to come. Incorporating Reebok’s relationship to the film is Ahchoo’s first scene, where he calls time out during a medieval brawl for a chance to pump up his Reeboks; forever embedding Reebok into pop culture.

The Reebok AXT- a classic silhouette long missing from the scene until recently.  Appropriately named ‘Ahchoo,’ colorblocking pays a direct homage to Dave Chapelle’s Afro-Islamic wardrobe when his character first meets Robin Hood during the fight scene.  Majestic hues of deep burgundies and purples with hits of light hazel lay upon premium plush micro-suede, pig skin, and leather.  The orange basketball Pump plays as a direct call-out to the traditional Pumps on almost all original Reebok Pumps, including the model on set for the infamous movie scene.

The Extra Butter Black Friday Premium Snapbacks are offered in 2 designs – the “EB Clapboard” and “Official Selection”, available for $200 in-store Friday, November 25th. The hats will also be made available in the Extra Butter webstore at 12pm noon of the same day. Only 23 hats were produced in each colorway and comes with an individually numbered card that guarantees it’s authenticity and limited edition.

The trilogy is complete. Part 3 of our “Official Selections” Fall 2011 lookbook, finishes up the shop’s select offerings as a follow up to last week’s Part 1 & Part 2.

For Part 3…we went back to our core, to bring you the most “butter” photo series of the 3. With today being Halloween, which was celebrated all month long with a variety of horror-movie nights events – it’s only fitting that we present the looks with our friends masked up and ready to start a scare!

Here’s a few notes on pieces by each brand I feel deserves a little extra attention:

• 10 Deep “Gretzky” long sleeve – worn by my fellow die-hard hockey fan Andrew, the piece brings fleece comfort to the classic styling of a hockey jersey – a look that has always stood out over time. And, thanks to 10 Deep – it’s that time again!
• Rocksmith’s “Militia Hooded Buttondown” – I chose to wear myself as a crazy Captain Bald Eagle concoction. The piece is colored in that olive color perfect for this time of year and is constructed in a tough ripstop material as rugged as the song the shirt is named after, Gangstarr’s “Militia”.
• G.P.P.R. absolutely nails it with this “McQueen Jacket”, producing the perfect camouflage piece for the season. And Kenroy wore a mask with it that was a little too good of a fit.
• The “Mishka” pieces are always near and dear to us, and I think D and K-swissy sported them in the bizarro way they should be. K-Swissy wore the ultra-fiended for “Keep Watch Leggings”, while D took the “Death Adder Varsity Jacket” to a whole other level.
• Amongst Friends debuted the “First String Varsity Jacket” this season leaving many with an “Oh S—!!” reaction when people have seen it up close and personal. Alex gave this piece a try, finding it to personify the essence of classiness that is Amongst Friends.
• While a few stellar Publish pants are seen on many of the models, the piece I’m finding essential to everyone’s wardrobe is the “Graft Camo Jacket”, which acts as a light jacket or layering over-shirt. Our boy Washington brings this together quite nice as Mr. V for Vendetta!

This is the last of the Fall looks and we urge you to give the pieces that have caught your eye a try before these all disappear. Let’s see what combos you guys can put together, and feel free to come and try these on with a mask as well just for the hell of it.
