G.P.P.R. Spring ’12
If you’ve been in the shop over the past year or so you’ve probably heard me talk to you about how G.P.P.R. is not playing around, and they’re about to bring some seriously amazing pieces in 2012. Not that they didn’t last year, G.P.P.R. has quickly become a shop favorite and we’re excited what the lineup for 2012 has to offer.
For Spring, we received 2 pieces so far – The Gordie, which features a brown suede pocket, and the Bad Company Oxford short sleeve shirt. I wanted to share a small taste as we anxiously await the rest of the delivery.
If you’ve been following the brand, you should know that G.P.P.R. has put the world onto an amazing band, one I’ve been obsessing over – Shadows on Stars. I realize I just missed them play a show in NYC which has been the cause of my own inner torture this past week. In addition to the G.P.P.R. styled video for “Punk Kids”, they also have a video for “Now You’re Mine”, which I’ve found infectiously joyful and endearing. I had those visuals in mind when the 2 pieces came in and alas…the photos you’ll see below. But check out the video below and get down here to fall in line with the G.P.P.R. movement!

No commentsG.P.P.R. Fall ’11 Tees – a closer look
I wanted to highlight the t-shirts from G.P.P.R. Fall ’11 collection, as some of them can be seen in the Extra Butter “Official Selections” Fall 2011 Parts 1, 2, and 3, but let’s take a closer look….
Without a graphic by graphic description, you’ll see from the close ups that the Gentlemen, Philosopher, Pervert, Rebel-aesthetic communicated rather well.
The G.P.P.R. Brotherhood also present some audio/visuals that align right as well. Check out the video for Shadows on Stars – “Punk Kids” below.

No commentsExtra Butter “Official Selections” Fall 2011 – Part 3
The trilogy is complete. Part 3 of our “Official Selections” Fall 2011 lookbook, finishes up the shop’s select offerings as a follow up to last week’s Part 1 & Part 2.
For Part 3…we went back to our core, to bring you the most “butter” photo series of the 3. With today being Halloween, which was celebrated all month long with a variety of horror-movie nights events – it’s only fitting that we present the looks with our friends masked up and ready to start a scare!
Here’s a few notes on pieces by each brand I feel deserves a little extra attention:
- 10 Deep “Gretzky” long sleeve – worn by my fellow die-hard hockey fan Andrew, the piece brings fleece comfort to the classic styling of a hockey jersey – a look that has always stood out over time. And, thanks to 10 Deep – it’s that time again!
- Rocksmith’s “Militia Hooded Buttondown” – I chose to wear myself as a crazy Captain Bald Eagle concoction. The piece is colored in that olive color perfect for this time of year and is constructed in a tough ripstop material as rugged as the song the shirt is named after, Gangstarr’s “Militia”.
- G.P.P.R. absolutely nails it with this “McQueen Jacket”, producing the perfect camouflage piece for the season. And Kenroy wore a mask with it that was a little too good of a fit.
- The “Mishka” pieces are always near and dear to us, and I think D and K-swissy sported them in the bizarro way they should be. K-Swissy wore the ultra-fiended for “Keep Watch Leggings”, while D took the “Death Adder Varsity Jacket” to a whole other level.
- Amongst Friends debuted the “First String Varsity Jacket” this season leaving many with an “Oh S—!!” reaction when people have seen it up close and personal. Alex gave this piece a try, finding it to personify the essence of classiness that is Amongst Friends.
- While a few stellar Publish pants are seen on many of the models, the piece I’m finding essential to everyone’s wardrobe is the “Graft Camo Jacket”, which acts as a light jacket or layering over-shirt. Our boy Washington brings this together quite nice as Mr. V for Vendetta!
This is the last of the Fall looks and we urge you to give the pieces that have caught your eye a try before these all disappear. Let’s see what combos you guys can put together, and feel free to come and try these on with a mask as well just for the hell of it.

No commentsExtra Butter “Official Selections” Fall 2011 – Part 2
Part 2 is here!! Or should I say Part Deux…
The followup to “Official Selections” Fall 2011 – Part 1. This time around we’re exposing you to the other side of the game, bringing out the more casual and mature (or is it grown and sexy?) side of street-wear. Whatever it may be, this lookbook features a ton of dopeness curated by Extra Butter for your viewing pleasure.
No matter the occasion, these everyday Fall selections are guaranteed to keep you looking like the accomplished and morally advanced individuals you are. Yet again helping you to achieve these distinguished looks are the likes of Amongst Friends, G.P.P.R., Mishka, Publish, Rocksmith, and 10Deep. You should know that when these brands combine, they form like a street-wear donning Voltron, giving you a complete and unique style that never fails. Take a look at some of the highlights from Part 2:
- “Ranch Hand” Denim Jacket by 10Deep
- Wool Tweed & Flannel Lined “Upstate” Vest by Amongst Friends

No commentsG.P.P.R. Fall ’11 – Gentlemen’s Club
“Gentlemen’s Club” – the latest collection from G.P.P.R. arrives, full of Fall looks for the G.P.P.R. brotherhood of Gentlemen, Philosophers, Perverts, and Rebels.
“There is a certain place where gentlemen gather to find solace in a perverse sort of nurturing only a woman can provide. Not only a gentlemen’s club but a rebel’s sanctuary, where fantasies of the female form run rampant. Such an environment lays the foundation for an intangible bond between men of scars and stripes.
This ‘Brotherhood,’ if you will, exists only in namesake and lends itself to a mutual understanding among Gentlemen, Philosophers,
Perverts and Rebels alike. Despite fundamental differences, there is a commonality between them that transcends titles. Those that realize and understand this ultimately initiate themselves into this community and become a part of a Gentlemen’s Club of a much more noble meaning. This collection is dedicated to the men that reside within this system of reasoning and respect. For those, though, who have yet to join our ranks, let this be your invitation and welcome to the Gentlemen’s Club.”
The “Sharp” woven buttondown is exactly that, “sharp” – as it takes the lumberjack look of this red plaid and fancies it up with piecing that gives the shirt a look as if it’s worn with some black suspenders.
The “Rhodes” is a warm fleece, shawl neck sweater. Clean hidden pocket detail on the front and G.P.P.R. tribute to ska legends, The Specials on the back.
The buttondown shirt seen in the above photos is the “Nimitz” – a black chambray piece that features contrast buttons and striping at the bottom. The unique details G.P.P.R. brings to the table, elevates the common, yet classy looks to a whole other level. Also peeking out the pocket of the “Cro Mags” pant, is the “Warhol” notebook, a must-have for notes, numbers, scribblings, and revelations.
The “Jabsco” (named after legendary 2-tone movement icon – Walt Jabsco) is a striped fleece hoodie with contrast button detail at the top opening. Another simple piece, G.P.P.R. takes on and owns with their signature stylings. As seen above, the “Cro-Mags”, (which might be the best pair of pants I’ve seen this Fall – and a must-try on when you come in for a visit) is a classic black trouser with a carrot leg cut that makes for an outstanding fit. There’s button detail at the waist and leg opening, allowing for a clean, tapered look – plus the pants are named after the NYC legendary hardcore band – Cro-Mags!
G.P.P.R.’s “Roosevelt” jacket, is another that I’d say deserves an award for “Best Of —” if there were some Streetwear version of the Academy Awards. Thankfully there’s not, because that would likely be an internet beefing nightmare, but nevertheless…this “Roosevelt” jacket is at the top of it’s class. Except, it’s in two classes as it flawlessly blends a motorcycle jacket stylings with a peacoat. An exquisite piece…
Lastly, we have the “McQueen” jacket with a cameo of the blue colored “Warhol” notebook. Named after “The King of Cool” – Steve McQueen, this jacket falls nothing short of the lofty title, nailing the army jacket stylings of a classic M-65 and re-working it with the unbeatable G.P.P.R. attention to details and fit.

No commentsG.P.P.R. – Summer 11 Delivery “International Brotherhood”
One of the newest brands to our roster, G.P.P.R. made a good amount of noise with their Spring release earlier in the year. G.P.P.R. – representing the Gentleman, the Pervert, the Philosopher, and the Rebel – are back with a Summer delivery entitled “International Brotherhood”. Have a look at the photos below…
The “Sullivan” is named after the variety show king, Ed Sullivan. The front side boasts G.P.P.R.’s tag as the “Last Gang in Town”, with the back side representing the modern day American Renaissance man on a bowling-style button-up.
The “Trooper” tee is self explanatory as a classic camo t-shirt like this should be in everyone’s wardrobe. Left chest features the seasonal title and G.P.P.R. call out…
Here we have the “Rude Boy”, which works for the bad boys out there with it’s printed suspenders with bold buttons on the front. But, the “Rude Boy” is a tribute to the ska/punk/reggae 2-tone movement that G.P.P.R. cites as a big influence to their brand.
The “Four Wiseman” tee was seen in the last delivery, but the imagery sums up the brand perfectly…so we brought it back!
*Also heard some murmurings or a “Strummer” jacket re-stock…staying tuned is a must.
