EB Staff Picks- Amy’s “Official Selection”

November 05th, 2012 | Category: Brands,Look/See,Promotions,Publish,TOMS

Following up on John, aka Pizza’s staff pick of the week, it’s time for my choice. I put together a four piece outfit that is sleek and simple. An outfit perfect for casual or dressy occasions. If you’re looking for something to wear for the upcoming holidays, it’s a nice spice to the usual holiday wear. Although I don’t think it surpasses the ugly Christmas sweaters… but its definitely up there.

Publish’s “Parfitt” long sleeve woven button up has a warm canvas outer with a bit of chambray material on the inside. The grey chambray material gives the button up a nice contrast from the dominating red. Publish always makes their pockets unique so you’ll notice that there is the standard chest pocket with fairly large pockets on each side; where you can put your cell phone, a journal, or maybe even a tablet. Publish’s black “Maltby” cargo pants are made out of ripstop twill and it is a nice classic look with the red button up.

For footwear the Toms Red Sand Knit Men’s classics adds a multi-pattern contrast to the whole outfit, which brings me to another Aztec inspired item, the Look/See “Sun God” sunglasses. Limited to only 100 pairs worldwide, Look/See did a collab with Portland-Based artist Adam R. Garcia. He was inspired to create hand-drawn graphics containing elements and symbols from the Aztec culture for the outer frame. The red color inside of the frames symbolize the human sacrifices that the Aztecs believed would keep the sun rising each day.

Look/See Goods – “Instagram Video”

August 29th, 2012 | Category: Brands,Look/See,Now Playing...

As indicated in our first posts (here & here) for one of our newest brands – LOOK/SEE, the Founder & CEO of the company has a background with Nike basketball, as you can clearly see in this creative and fun video they shot below. Those situations feel familiar at all? These little photoshoots for kicks are a daily thing for us and while we began prepping some new Nike Basketball heat that we’re prepared to drop in a few weeks, we thought of their video and decided to share. Enjoy!

LOOK/SEE Reflective

August 17th, 2012 | Category: Brands,Look/See,New Arrivals

Also available at the shop, in addition to the sneaker-inspired “Icons Collection” we posted last night, LOOK/SEE is also offering a series of “Reflective” pairs of sunglasses. With the use of “3m” reflectivity being another popular material of choice on dope pairs of sneakers, it’s only natural that Kyle of LOOK/SEE brought this from his days at Nike Basketball over to LOOK/SEE in a way we’ve all never seen before…on eyewear!!

When I saw this video below, I nearly lost my mind. The same way I always reacted when I would see light hit certain shoes and clothes through the years, that were littered with use of reflective pieces and strips. Take a look at the video and some pictures of the pieces we got in. We used a Lomography – Fritz the Blitz flash that comes with colored flash covers  and attached it to the shop’s Canon G10 to shoot the Medium Grey/Neon Yellow, Medium Grey/Black, and Medium Grey/Vivid Blue Reflective frame sunglasses. The effect is even better in person, which everyone has been coming to see when trying them out at the shop with a simple flash of the smartphone. Be sure to give it a shot yourself….

Introducing: LOOK/SEE Eyewear – Icons Collection

August 17th, 2012 | Category: Brands,Look/See,New Arrivals

Sunglasses are a must. They’re also the hot item at the shop as of late. And well it comes with great pleasure that we get to introduce to you our newest brand to our family at the shop, LOOK/SEE!

The good folks over at LOOK/SEE come from extensive design experience, most recently having worked as product line manager at Nike Basketball. I don’t mention this for validation, as the product will truly speak for itself, but merely a connection to other great work, overflowing with creativity.

The first pieces from LOOK/SEE come from its “Icons Collection”, and as you can see in the photos below, “icons” refers to designs that have helped give certain sneakers their legendary status. You’ll notice the premium eyewear, with it’s special packaging, plus the iconic “elephant”, “safari”, and “cement” print – late 80′s to early 90′s footwear feature standouts. This is just the start for LOOK/SEE, but you can bet many stories will be told, and there will certainly be a lot more to see…
