Pump-A-Day: Day 5 – Bodega Pump Omni Lite “Escape”
We’re less than a week away from the release of our Extra Butter x Reebok Pump OXT “Sheriff”, and as you can see from the recent blog posts I’ve been wearing a Pump-A-Day in anticipation for the Sheriff to ride in and take over the town.
Today I threw on Bodega’s first Pump collab – which went under the name “Escape Pack”. The shoe came with a ton of goodies and if you don’t know the backstory you should look it up. If you’ve ever traveled from NY to Boston or vice-versa, you probably already know the deal. Especially if you’ve ever rode via the Fung-Wah or “Chinatown” bus. With that theme in mind I brought in my Jianzi, which my mom just brought back for me as a gift from her recent visit to China. It’s basically described as the Chinese version of a “hacky-sack” and it’s highly addicting.

Last night I had plans to have dinner at Texas Roadhouse! If you haven’t eaten there before…there are peanut barrels that you can pig out on and throw the shells all over the floor. I didn’t want to subject my pink “Ball Outs” to that, so I switched to this older pair of black denim Court Victory’s!

No commentsPump-A-Day: Day 4 – The “Ball Out” ALIFE Court Victory Pump
No significance today really, just made sure I didn’t wear green shoes…eh.
I remember these dropping “Black Friday” 2007 – ALIFE did an online release for these and I didn’t hesitate for a second. We had our own “Black Friday” going on ourselves here, our first ever, but I managed to multi-task and not miss out on these. I never got the original tennis ball yellow Ball Outs unfortunately, but this conceptually was brilliant to me. It paid perfect tribute to tennis superstar Michael Chang’s original Court Victory Pump shoe…flawless concept. I’d have to say I always keep a few examples like this in my head when coming up with ideas – keep that standard of excellence and bar raised high! Bravo Alife….did I think we’d one day be able to join them in sneaker history, Reebok Pump history nonetheless…only in my dreams – so kudos to my whole team and Reebok for the hard work in putting our “Ahchoo” together and of course the “Sheriff”..coming soon!!

No commentsPump-A-Day: Day 3 – The “Bberry” Twilight Zone
So here’s my Reebok Pump for the day…veteran online retailer – Pick Your Shoes designed these Twilight Zone Pump’s earlier this year based off a company which I love and am very loyal to – Blackberry. Say what you want iEverything users…it won’t have effect. I love my Torch, I loved my leather back OG Bold prior to this, and even my kind of rinky dink Pearl that started the craze. I am also connected to my PlayBook which has a new OS that is taking the usage of the two devices combined to a whole new level, and making my life oh so buttery smooth.
Kudos to PYS, who have 2 more smartphone-inspired kicks on the way….one more week for our Sheriff!!

No commentsExtra Butter x Reebok “Sheriff” Pump OXT Photos!!
The follow up to the Extra Butter x Reebok “Ahchoo” Pump AXT is the OXT, another model recently resurrected from the Reebok archives. The rugged feel of the OXT provides for a perfect canvas for durabuck and premium tumbled leather. Hunter green, black and dark brown make for a classic look, but the signature wow-factor lies in the mudguard, adorned with a unique arrow quill-like pattern. As with the AXT, the OXT also sports the model orange Pump for consistent tribute with the “Ahchoo”. The OXT may represent the entire Men in Tights‘s attire, but Extra Butter dubbed these the ‘Sheriff,’ specifically paying tribute to the closing scene where Ahchoo is appointed the new sheriff of Rottingham. “A black sheriff? And why not? It worked in Blazing Saddles.”

No commentsPump-A-Day: Day 2 – The “Gizmo” Pump Omni Lite
So by now you saw “The Sheriff” make it’s world premiere right? Right?! And, well I gotta put it simply…it’s a super thought-out concept. Maybe that’s obvious, maybe it’s not. But it is our soul for sure…and there’s no way around it.
Both “The Sheriff” and “Ahchoo” are based off a movie, which is clearly in the DNA of us…you know, EXTRA BUTTER! Look at our logos, events, designs, gear, lingo, shop, everything….and more! This whole collab process with Reebok is directly tied into everything we’re about – Reebok is the ONLY and PERFECT partner for this project, and well…we’d like to say the same for ourselves.
But with my “Pump-A-Day” campaign…I’m taking and sharing a look at other Reebok Pumps I own, that have made furthered and furthered my affinity to the Pump’s legacy.
Below is the “Gizmo”…the furry and irresistible little Mogwai from the movie “Gremlins”. Reebok releasing this made me go nutty and even more proud to have these at the shop when they came out because of my dreams of one day doing things like the “Ahchoo” and the “Sheriff”.
I wore these today, because I had tickets to the New York Islanders game. One of my favorite players, Michael Grabner – is their young and talented speed demon who’s nickname is “Gremlin”. I wore these in support, and although they lost Grabner scored pretty nifty backhand re-direction goal! Get why I chose these for the day? There I go with that whole super thought-out business…

No commentsPUMP-a-DAY until….
So I kind of did this last time around, but have since added to the collection, and didn’t share with you guys last time…which is no fair.
But…I’m writing this prior to the world premiere of our Extra Butter x Reebok Pump OXT “Sheriff”, and realizing the explanation might not make as much sense if I posted it now. So this will be posted after, and yes, I’m talking to myself basically.
ANYWAY…these Pump Omni Lite’s are poppin’ aren’t they? And, the colorway always reminded me of our friends down the street over at Milk & Honey. They’ve got similar colors going on over there, in their designs and in all the goodies they carry. I decided to take a stroll down the block during the nice day we were having, brought my camera, Christina said “Oooh, get on top of the chair, I like that for a background”, I was worried I may break it, but alas…the photo below!
I’ll explain more in my next post, but if anyone else wants to join me in my PUMP-a-DAY project leading up to the release of our “Sheriff”…tweet us @ExtraButter – #PUMPaDAY

No commentsExtra Butter x Reebok Pump OXT “Sheriff” Video
It was a little over 2 months ago when our “Ahchoo” took the world by storm. But, what started it all was the teaser video we dropped eluding to our special collaboration project with Reebok that we showed live to the party people rocking with us on the eve of our 4 year anniversary party.
The world waited a few weeks for the full version which brought about the craze, the tweets, the likes, the “WOW’s”, etc. To recap a bit, the concept for this project is based on Reebok’s crowning moment of movie glory for it’s pump shoe appearance in the Mel Brooks comedy spoof – Robin Hood “Men in Tights”. The film remains a cult classic for funny scenes and lines, and hey…with the success of our “Ahchoo”, we hope we’re on the same esteemed “cult classic” status as well.
Well to further our case we have a follow up…we’re “EXTRA” Butter, so you can bet your buttery dollar there’s always more to what we do than what you may see at first. We once again linked up with our boy Cameron Brewster – playing the role of Dave Chappelle’s character, and the incredibly awesome to work with team at Je Ne Se Quoi Films (Big Buttery THANK YOU again to Karl, Ryan, and Tai!!)!!
So without further adieu, we introduce you to “The Sheriff”!!

No commentsReebok Insta Pump Furys – “Mita” and O.G. “Firecrackers”
One of my favorite new sneakers of recent years has been the Reebok Insta Pump Fury’s. I always liked the looked, the exotic colorways, but finally trying them out and putting them together with different outfits sealed the deal! They’re as comfortable as they get, I enjoy using socks that can peek out of the openings and I also enjoy the amount of looks they get as they’re truly a unique design.
We received 2 new colorways – the first takes advantage of the current cheetah or leopard craze going on. This one is designed by Japanese sneaker vets, MITA. The second shoe further down in the post is that original Pump Fury in black, firecracker, yellow…this gem from the past is back and even better, they’re numbered in a limited amount of 2012! Both shoes have gone pretty fast, if you haven’t given these a shot yet you’re missing out…trust me!

No commentsReebok Dibello Stud Mid & Women’s Chi-Kaze
So I guess we can find it in us to put our “Ahchoo” Reebok Pump AXT’s aside for a minute to make room for some new Reeboks right?
Introducing the Dibello Stud Mid. A mix of tonal leather and suede with forefoot straps that get studded out. I’m actually feeling these a lot, although not typically my style. They look great on as you can see in the photos below. The black seems right on for any rockstar occasion and the red pair reminds me of the Michael Jackson “Thriller” jacket for some reason and is dope any way you slice it.
Also from Reebok Classic is the women’s Chi-Kaze – a special ladies version of the popular men’s “Kamikaze’s” that Swizz has been crushing over the past year. The colors here are spot on, and the two straps at the top seem to pay homage to perhaps the most famed shoe in female Reebok history – the Freestyle. Pink Lemonade.
