TOMS – One Day Without Shoes ’13 – Recap
This past Tuesday, you may have seen us marching around our block barefoot. A site to see, since we’re normally decked out with crazy kicks, but this was also done in spirit of TOMS – ONE DAY WITHOUT SHOES event!
As you know TOMS implements a “One For One” model, where for every pair of shoes purchased, TOMS donates a pair of footwear to a child in need. The One Day Without Shoes event was a way of spreading awareness as we saw what it was like to actually have to get around and endure the day without shoes. Living without shoes leaves people vulnerable to a variety of health risks, social privilege, and issues with self-esteem and education. Our mission was to “leave our footprint” in town by making our noise and discussing and demonstrating the cause!
Thanks to Nicole and everyone else for coming down to join us! Visit here for more info on TOMS – One Day Without Shoes.

No commentsOne Day Without Shoes 2013: Tuesday April 16th
We here at the shop always look to align ourselves with brands that stand for things we can agree with. TOMS exemplifies this; from their upstanding message to their greater purpose as a brand, we feel that what they’re doing is great for the international community. For those of you who may still be unaware as to what they do for those less fortunate, here‘s a post from a little while ago with an informative video.
Tuesday April 16th is this years’ date for ODWS. For people within our community, shoes play an essential role in our outfits and everyday life. We here at the shop have decided to take on the challenge, and we invite all of you to join us in a walk around the area without shoes to try and spread the message of TOMS and experience, even if only briefly, life without shoes.
We’ll all meet around 7pm here at the shop, so stop by a little before then and join us for a good cause. RSVP to the Facebook event page here.

No commentsNew Men’s TOMS – Spring ’13 Arrivals
Now that warmer weather is finally in sight, it’s time to pick up some light weight, Spring friendly footwear to keep you relaxed and looking good. What better than the new Spring Toms styles and colors to really set off your Spring time outfits.
Subtle greys and sandy tan colors are a reoccurring appearance in this seasons line. From the Classics that Toms fans all know and love, to the unique mid-top Botas and dress-like Cordones that really explode with their vibrant yellow sole, these cool colored easy going shoes are definitely a must for relaxing in some warmer weather.
Moving on to some darker colors, we have the Stitchout and the Desert Botas. Both are wrapped in some real dark blue denim which creates a really great look. The Stitchouts have that Classic slip-on look but has an added adjustable pull tab in the back to tighten the sights up, giving a move snug fit. The Desert Botas are accented nicely with some brown leather piping around the tongue which really pops against the deep denim blue.

No commentsWomen’s TOMS Spring Arrivals!
People have been calling and asking when will you be getting in the new spring Toms. With Friday being the first day of spring, we decided to let people know all the new styles of Toms that we just received. I know how much everyone loves the Toms Classics, I just wanted to shed some light on the newer styles that you guys might not be used to seeing. For the people that like a little bit of a heel Toms has made the the Desert Wedge, Wedge and Strappy Wedge. All are perfect for the formal springtime look.
In addition to the fashionable look they offer, it’s important to remember the great things TOMS does for people worldwide. We learned today a bit about exactly how TOMS gives back, and it’s truly more than just giving someone a pair of shoes. For those in truly impoverished nations, a pair of shoes can represent so much more than we could ever understand. While we may look at shoes as a way to express ourselves or get us from point A to point B, some see it as a way to get into school, or a way to prevent themselves from getting dangerous diseases. We here at the shop greatly support their cause, and feel it’s important for our customers to recognize the impact they have in buying a pair of their shoes or sunglasses.
In addition to the sweet photos of the new shoes, we have an informative video so you guys can see how great what they do really is. Stop in and check ‘em out for yourself, and we’ll tell you some more about their mission.

EB Staff Picks- Amy’s “Official Selection”
Following up on John, aka Pizza’s staff pick of the week, it’s time for my choice. I put together a four piece outfit that is sleek and simple. An outfit perfect for casual or dressy occasions. If you’re looking for something to wear for the upcoming holidays, it’s a nice spice to the usual holiday wear. Although I don’t think it surpasses the ugly Christmas sweaters… but its definitely up there.
Publish’s “Parfitt” long sleeve woven button up has a warm canvas outer with a bit of chambray material on the inside. The grey chambray material gives the button up a nice contrast from the dominating red. Publish always makes their pockets unique so you’ll notice that there is the standard chest pocket with fairly large pockets on each side; where you can put your cell phone, a journal, or maybe even a tablet. Publish’s black “Maltby” cargo pants are made out of ripstop twill and it is a nice classic look with the red button up.
For footwear the Toms Red Sand Knit Men’s classics adds a multi-pattern contrast to the whole outfit, which brings me to another Aztec inspired item, the Look/See “Sun God” sunglasses. Limited to only 100 pairs worldwide, Look/See did a collab with Portland-Based artist Adam R. Garcia. He was inspired to create hand-drawn graphics containing elements and symbols from the Aztec culture for the outer frame. The red color inside of the frames symbolize the human sacrifices that the Aztecs believed would keep the sun rising each day.

No commentsTOMS: Men’s styles for October
I’ve always heard that Toms are by far one of the most comfortable shoes out there, and I gotta say that after slipping my feet into these, that couldn’t be more true. It’s good to see more guy-friendly TOMS styles make their way to Butter, and its even better that every style is amazing! The photos below show the winter friendly styles ranging from the Classic slip on in both “Black Woolen” and the unique “Red Knit Sand”, to the Highland Botas with matching “Red Knit” inline or “Black Suede”, with fleece inline, keeping comfort and warmth at a high. A bit more dressy, the Desert Ox maintains a sleek almost dress shoe-like style while implementing the wool upper and staying with the comfort standard TOMS is known for.

No commentsTOMS : Pink & Aqua Tamin and Red Glitter
3 new Toms color ways have just arrived at the shop, and are definitely a change from the recent classic Toms color ways. The color scheme of the “Tamin” style, mixed with the soft wool make these Toms ideal for the cooler Autumn months to come.
The Wizard of Oz comes to mind when looking at the Red Glitter color way. Once these hit the sun expect to turn some heads, with the shine they’ll produce. We all know Toms have a habit of flying off the shelves and these 3 color ways are expected to do the same, so make a trip to the store and pick up a pair!
