Last week, I had the opportunity to be part of a movie. A movement, in which imagination was set free, and just about every other good asset that comes along with the human spirit.

MEGA – part of the Konogo Mix collective who’s art was featured in our Kafe King event at the shop back in May, was here for the THUG.LIFE. Series Movie Night Event. At the end of the night he handed me a plastic card, one that I will now forever hold onto. The card had a #, and when you called that # you were given some clues and a password on how to take part or check out what SVN: hi fi, was all about.

If I went into detail, I would just be blogging. All I will say is that it was magical, and hopefully from some of the photos below you’ll be able to imagine your own vibe to the wonders that took place.

I had the pleasure of attending OGM and Jersey Klan’s performance at the Afro Punk show at Williamsburg Music Hall last week, and you should know…this will be a performance you best not miss. Oh, and he’s bringing that JUICE!

For the next installment of Movie Night, we thought it’d be a good idea to carry on tradition by taking a trip to see the critically-acclaimed Paranormal Activity 3. Early indications have PA3 slated as an instant classic, leaving audiences deeply disturbed and with some sleeping difficulties. That’s the word on the street at least. We’ll have to decide for ourselves before giving it the Butter stamp of approval…

So get your popcorn ready for Fridy the 28th and join us at AMC Loews Fantasy in RVC for some good ole supernatural fun!!

This week’s movie night will bring a little something extra to the table. We join forces yet again, with our friends from Visions.18 and A.L.I.E.N. NYC for a one of a kind evening as we screen “TALES FROM THE HOOD” – part of a 3-part series called THUG.LIFE.

Adding some fun to the mix, we encourage everyone to dress with the “THUG.LIFE.” attire/costume in mind…and there just may be some prizes for the best dressed thugs of the night.
