Extra Butter presents the Neo-Tokyo Collection, a capsule inspired by Katsuhiro Otomo’s cyberpunk anime masterpiece, AKIRA. Set in 2019 in a post-apocalyptic Japan, the supernatural action plot line was a vessel to address the underlying theme of corrupt politicians, secret military motives, and tension from activists that lead to inevitable violence - many themes that ring very true and weigh heavy in today’s real life 2019 climate.

The aesthetic of the Neo-Tokyo collection is directly inspired by the film's stark contrast between vivid pops of neon signs and illuminating motorcycles against the dark and ominous cityscape setting. The pieces feature simple lines of classic silhouettes with tweaked details that subtly imply both the Japanese and retro-future inspiration.

Otomo Waterproof Jacket ($210) - Coated fabric with sealed seamed taffeta interior, zippered underarm ventilation, heat sealed pockets, rubberized loop zips, cowl collar hood, and semi-reflective branding on the front placket and back collar. Sizes S-2XL.

Tetsuo Anorak ($180) - Blocked ripstop nylon and sherpa, kangaroo flap pocket, lumbar cargo pockets, rubberized loop zips, contrast underarm ventilation eyelets, and waist bungees. Sizes S-2XL.

Kaneda Hoodie ($160) - Raglan hoodie with cross hem hood and kangaroo pocket details, top hood embroidery with bungee, and full length back nylon panel accent with high density print. Sizes S-2XL.

Kei Cross Crewneck ($140) - Raglan style crewneck fit with anti-pill poly-tricot fabrication, oversized cross hem shawl with drawstrings, and nylon chest paneling with high density print. Sizes S-2XL.
