Junya Watanabe, a former student of Comme des Garçons designer Rei Kawakubo, started his career as a pattern-maker for CDG which led to a quick promotion to chief designer of the Tricot line, followed by CDG Homme. Fast forward to the designer's first Paris presentation in 1993, Watanabe begins his own line under the label named Junya Watanabe Comme des Garçons. Since the brand's founding, it has become renowned for its avant-garde craftsmanship and cutting-edge fabrics, original tailoring, and complex draping experimentation.

For SS19, Junya Watanabe emphasizes on his preferred army and navy motifs while the collection consists of an array of recognizable silhouettes. Camouflage is portrayed throughout as the staple appears on shirts and parkas, while the offering also includes L/S t-shirts, cargo pants, and trousers representing Watanabe's interest in workwear. Lastly, the collection is abetted with chest rigs in black and plaid as well as collarless sailor caps.

Junya Watanabe SS19 is now available in-store, online and via our EB app.
