This past Saturday marked a monumental day with the re-release celebration of the Nike Air Force 1 "Jones Beach". The in-store release was at our Long Island outpost in Rockville Centre, which featured an activation space that showed our love to Long Island's coastal blessings. The window showcased an enlarged sandcastle version of the shoe's outsole, with the map of Long Island showing proud, and the room featured a sand wrapped glass case display that honored the 2009 OG "Jones Beach AF1.
Our community showed up strong with a line that extended down the block, all eager to get their hands on the shoe, tote bag, Extra Butter capsule collection, and get treated to Long Island's own Arizona Iced Tea flavored shaved ices. We also teamed up with Shake Shack's New Hyde Park location to come together on a collaborative "Field 4"-inspired frozen custard creation which encompassed a blend of blueberry and lemon curd custard, topped off with crumbled graham cracker, appropriately representing the sea and sand.
In addition to the release at RVC, Nike put the "strong" in Strong Island with a celebration at the East Rockaway Yacht Club, bringing the community to the beach! Highlighted by a shipping container - modular pool, Nike SNKRS turned the place into "Jones Beach North" with full representation of the Air Force 1 "Jones Beach" aesthetic, beach bites, and summertime grooves.
