Oakley

With a $300 initial investment, James Jannard founded Oakley in his garage in 1975. At motocross competitions, Jannard first started selling a product he named "The Oakley Grip" out of the trunk of his car. His motorbike grips were unique compared to others on the market at the time. The material is still used to make the earsocks on Oakley glasses.
Today, Oakley designs, develops, and produces a variety of lifestyle products, including eyewear, clothes, backpacks, shoes, sunglasses, safety glasses, sports visors, ski and snowboard goggles, watches, and other accessories. Most products are created in-house at their corporate headquarters.
