Raf Simons

Belgian-born designer Raf Simons launched his eponymous brand in 1995, after an early Martin Margiela runway show convinced him to leave industrial design behind to study fashion at Antwerp’s Royal Academy. Simons went on to serve as Creative Director at Jil Sander and Christian Dior, where he applied his signature style of precise, minimalist modernism and vibrant color sense. Since his departure from Dior and appointment as Creative Director at Calvin Klein, Simons has renewed his focus on his namesake label, and continues to explore his devotion to youth subcultures.

Pop art-inspired graphics, photo collage prints, and sneakers made in collaboration with adidas complement tailored shirting and new interpretations of knitwear. In their interplay of textures, modern proportions, and precise cuts, Simons’ collections synthesize deeply personal emotions and a futuristic vision.
