Celebrating its 10 year anniversary, Extra Butter introduces its newly renovated flagship store in the Lower East Side. Japanese architect, Nubuo Araki- best known for THE PARK・ING GINZA, The Pool Aoyama, Supreme Tokyo, and many other Japanese retailers- was brought on, marking this as his first ever project on US soil. The space is meticulously designed to imply the premium subtlties and minimalism of Japanese sensibilities while still highlighting Extra Butter’s signature movie theme concept. At night, the curtains are drawn and projectors emerge to transform the retail space into an empty movie theatre, disrupting the attention of sidewalk traffic. The full cinematic retail experience is emphasized through the new EB Concessions, a premium presentation of the classic movie stand, selling an assortment of vintage candies and colas, as well as modern gourmet popcorn, coffee and cold brew.
